Congrats! You’re On The Inside.

Welcome to the Music Marketing Insider Circle! Please watch the introductory video below to get up to speed.

In short, the Insider Circle was created to kick things up a notch and take Music Marketing Manifesto to the next level.

While Music Marketing Manifesto teaches you the fundamentals of marketing, driving traffic, and creating a sales funnel, the Insider Circle will be teach you additional ADVANCED strategies, and keep you on the cutting edge of this rapidly changing industry.

I hope to make this your one-stop-shop for music marketing intelligence, training, and networking.

But always remember, there are no magic bullets out there people. Every artist is different and results will vary significantly. By following the strategies discussed in the Insider Circle you are not guaranteed any specific income or results.

That being said, everything discussed here is the REAL DEAL, and this stuff really does work. So get to it!

I’ll see you in the forum!

    Hi everyone!

First of all thank you very much for the incredible $1 deal!

I am a musician from Guatemala and have just released my first 2 song EP with my band called “Oxímoron”.

So I am mainly looking for ways to share music and grow fan base and all these videos look very promising!

Hi everyone. I’m Elijah AKA Men-Kau, glad to be here. Been making music and in the performing arts for quite a few years, only been a few months since I have been producing music with a quality level and sound flavour that I feel I want to represent to the world. Been researching marketing and promotion for a couple of years now, came across John some months ago and his approach to direct-to-fan marketing has grown on me in large part because he is an artist himself as well as his teaching/coaching success. I wasn’t in a position to move on anything until now that I have my first single to release. Saw his offer due to the world lockdown situation and simply could not refuse (even though I’m still not quite ready but hey). Much thanks for that John. I use Gravatar for something else but if there is another way that I can share an image of myself, I will gladly do so. Peace

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Elijah,

Welcome to the IC. Glad the offer got you to take a chance and dive in. Please let me know if I can ever help with anything. I’ll see you around the members area.

I am from the Denver area of Colorado.
I started out as a bass player. Influenced by; Iron Maiden, The Cure, The Doors (no permanent bass player ha ha). Many more. I have won awards for poetry from publishers in Pennsylvania, and New York with 20+ of the “Ursula Van Rensin’s” poetry books in my local library. I’ve written over 80. A book I wrote “Haunting Colorado Springs”, a collection of tales of terror it is getting recognition in the U.K. and India. My music has evolved into just me with my Roland Fantom G6 synthesizer workstation . I have achieved somewhat of an internet presence and radio airplay around the country,. I would like to learn from this program how to be successful in the way that it is offered. Looking forward to it.

    • John Oszajca says:

Thanks for sharing a bit of your story Luke. It’s great to have you here. Hope to catch you on an upcoming coaching call or in the forum.

      All the best.

  • James Gordon says:

Hey yall. I’m James aka Jr Bebble. I’m a indie hip hop artist with soul! Dads from Jamaica, moms from England. They split the difference deciding Canada would be my birth country, home, and native land! NICE TO MEET YOU ALL. IM ready to put the keys to the engine. Have had great success with street team, boots to the pavement type marketing and engagement. As an independent label owner and artist I’m so glad to be here learning with the rest of the squad. Cheers to growth and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!!!

  • Hi John and crew, my name is Mic Pogo and I reside in Seattle. Thanks for offering these lessons, forums and videos at such an affordable rate at a difficult time. You guys are truly wonderful! I am avid musician/producer of ear candy and record with mostly organic/analog instruments, which i find is quite rare these days. I personally love unique soundtrack music, especially in the vein of Balkan and Persian styles, along with dustings of dub, prog, trip-hop and odd-meter styles because that is the most fun music to make and get creative with. I truly suck at promoting myself as I’ve always been way too shy and bad at social media to put my music out there when there is so much other important stuff happening for people to care about another musical artist, but making music and recording keeps me sane and ultimately happy. Would be great to gain some eventual royalties from my art, so i hope i learn a lot from your library and am able to utilize it somehow. Thanks again!!

  • Greg Foster says:

Hi John, thanks for opening up the dollar portal. I’m a life long amateur, semi professional musician. I got stuck in pissed off victim space on my way up, keeps crashing my space ship, that’s to say public offerings of my craft. Good thing about the current clusterfuck is increased meditation time, getting to the roots of my struggle. Voice is my core instrument lately. I’ve basically trained as a band leader all my life, but been mostly solo for the thwarting storms I carried in my heart. I’m on my way out of a homeless phase, where the reduced options of my situation solidified certain basic skills I didn’t properly learn my first time as a teen navigating professional music situations. Only acoustic guitar brought back my songs, lost turn of century. I got a computer with the urge to bring my songs back, but my wisdom wasn’t yet ready to share. So what I did was make imorovised soundscapes with almost no lyrics. Eno esque, Sun Ra, Coil some of my influence. My voice as instrument appeared then, released from the straight and narrow tones of pop vocals. When I got back to songs, they came to me like a flood. I woke back up to song craft ca. 2013, since a struggle to find my niche. Options befuddled my focus the first time. I now experience confusion of options in this marketing on internet stuff. Well, thanks John for this. I hope to whittle down this brainstorm to some clear, actionable steps.

  • Jay Langston says:

Hello Everyone! I’m from Houston Texas and
excited to explore the teachings and tips that’s here. I’ve been following you John for a little while. You have been the only person that I’ve found that has given solid information without all the fluff. I’m in the contemporary Christian genre and have not found anything remotely as close to the information you provide. So since you have gave this $1.00 deal for 30 days, I said let’s try it and see! Thank you for your dedication in providing sound and solid information!

  • Ben DeHan says:

Hi all, Ben DeHan from Baltimore. Looking forward to learning some good stuff/ discussing marketing tactics with you!

  • Paul Bond says:

Hi folks – Paul Bond from London here.
I’ve been lucky to tour and record at quite a high level with various different acts. My current gig is playing guitar for Jeff Wayne who’s quite a big deal over here in the UK where he has one of the biggest selling albums of all time! Looking forward playing on the arena tour in 2021.
I am putting the finishing touches to my solo album in my own studio (Shabby Road) which I would describe as the love-child of Peter Gabriel and Pink Floyd, but slightly rockier. I am super-proud of this album and hand-on-heart, think it’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard!
I’m excited to discover new ways of marketing my music and growing my fan-base.
Thanks for this unbelievably generous offer John.
    Regards – Paul

  • Pablo says:

Very glad that I give a Try to the courses. thanks

  • Owen Sartori says:

Hey, John. Owen Sartori here. I’ve been following your career for a long time, since we’ve been in some similar circles but have never met in person. I’ve owned and operated a songwriting and production studio now for about 9 years, and worked as an artist and performer for 20 years before that. I thought I’d give the $1 deal a try to see if this would be useful for my artists.

But even with the whole lockdown, I’m keeping busy, so I’m hoping you might be able to direct me to, say… the “Top 10” videos I should be looking at for my newer artists. I’m sure there is a forum somewhere that might cover this, so a link to that conversation would be super helpful.

Thanks for all that you do!

    Owen

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Owen,

Nice to connect with you and welcome to the IC. The IC is designed to keep musicians on current with their marketing, and also to compliment my core program, Music Marketing Manifesto 4.0 (though you do not need MMM to benefit from the IC). Because of that, there is no one lesson that you should start with. It’s really a matter of browsing the lesson titles and seeing what feels like it might be interesting, or what might align with your goals. Beyond that, I typically recommend with starting with the recent lessons and working backwards in time.

However, If I had to pick a good place to start right now, I would probably start with the recent “Emergency LTO” lesson, as even new artists are getting their first taste of sales with this strategy, and several artists have reported making thousands with the technique, just in the last week.

You can find that here: https://www.mmmanifesto.com/insider-circle/the-emergency-lto/

Another good lesson that will give people a solid overview of what I teach and why the MMM model works so well, is the Long Term Monetization lesson, which you can find here: https://www.mmmanifesto.com/insider-circle/long-term-monetization/

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

  • John Gallagher says:

Hi John. Just thought I’d say hi and thanks for this offer for the insider circle. This couldn’t have come at a better time really as i’m having some problems with trying to find the right audiences to market to through Face books Ads. I can hopefully find out where im going wrong. I have the funnel and the squeeze page and have run a few campaigns and changed up lots of different things concerning all the aspects of this .but alas i’m still struggling. But its all learning .Thanks again

    • John Oszajca says:

Welcome to the IC John! Glad it comes at a handy time. I have a new lesson coming out later today that might also really help, based on what you’ve said. It’s called “The USP Case Study”. Keep an eye on your inbox.

  • Joshua Webb says:

Hey, I’m looking forward to learning a few things. I am primarily a rapper originally from New Zealand but residing in Australia currently and soon China (for work as a teacher). My wife is an R&B singer. As well as creating songs for teens & grown ups, I created a children’s music group named ‘Hey DUBY’ & released an album a few years ago. With some new music & animated videos created I’m wanting to give this another push. It has been hard to break through despite seeing how much my audience loves the music! Even with getting a music video on national TV in NZ last week or play on kids radio shows. Hopefully I can find some ways that will lead me to creating some income back from the tens of thousands I have put into it and inspire me to keep creating at the benefit of society.

    • John Oszajca says:

Hey Joshua, welcome to the IC. It;s great to have you here. Kids music is a great Niche. Targeting is a little more challenging just because you need to target parents, but not all that hard when you consider the option of targeting other children’s artists who have parents in the average parenting age range.

I’ve been living in the Bay of Islands for the last number of years, so it’s always nice to see Kiwi’s in the mix.

      Enjoy the members area.

  • Rob E Kirby says:

    Hey, everyone!
Glad to be here, lots to learn. I’m a guitarist/songwriter, mostly into beautiful melodic guitar-based instrumentals but also have written a lot of songs with lyrics. Been around the block a few times but marketing has always been a weakness. I’m currently recording a ton of songs and have just started working on my website and social media stuff. Excited to learn, I’ll be looking through all the past monthly trainings. Thanks for having me!

  • Garrett Sawyer says:

    Greetings and Hallucinations, John,

Allow me to re-introduce myself. Actually, I’ve been a member of the MMM since 2.0 (remember Article Marketing?).

Musically, I’ve been an independent recording artist for the last 25 years. I’m a folk-rocker with three albums released, number four on the way any decade now.

I bring to the Insider Circle one unusual commodity: I’m a physician. No, this isn’t a gag. I’ve been in practice for over 30 years. My specialty is pathology, both anatomic and clinical. I’m the medical director of the clinical laboratory of a major hospital in Los Angeles and I’m the managing partner of our medical partnership. You’re all coping with the fallout of the COVID-19 crisis; I’m in the epicenter of it. So every now and then, circumstances permitting, I may have a thought or two you might find somewhat useful.

    Glad to be back!

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hey Garrett,

      Since 2.0… nice! That’s old school 🙂

And yes, please offer any feedback you have for everyone. I find what you do fascinating and I’m personally very interested in health and the body. I’m sure everyone would welcome any feedback or advice you have.

Hope you’re doing ok out there, at the epicenter of this thing.

Thanks for doing what you do!

  • Nicole Stella says:

Hello everyone! Thanks John for letting me in!

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Michael,

Welcome to the IC. I’m so sorry to hear about your brother. Sounds very rough.

I would likely start with two lessons, the first being the “Emergency LTO” lesson and the second being the “long Term Monetization” lesson. Both will give you a good sense of what I teach.

Hope to catch you around in the members area.

      All the best.

Greetings from Australia. Even though I trained as a performer and composer, I’ve recently moved into artist management – currently focusing on classical music. These tough times have forced me to speed up my learning in the area of online promotion. I’ve been doing some serious digital marketing study and look forward to hearing a music-specific focus in this community.

  • Edward Tsang says:

Hi my name is Eddie Tsang, and my music is called In Time We Rise. I have a facebook, bandcamp, and a few videos on YouTube. So far I have 9 songs, working on the 10th at the moment, so I am a beginner here. I do not have any physical merchandise, and hoping to learn and grow. I known about MMM 4.0 before but didn’t have the money for it, so I jumped at this opportunity and hopefully I can implement things, I want to supplement my income as a guitar and piano instructor, eventually moving on to support myself through my music. Thank you, wish me luck!

HI Everyone i’m Psway a rap artist/designer , just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for having me.

  • Tobias says:

    Hi John,
I’m psyched to be on board, thanks so much for your generous offer!
My first goal is to move CDs and Vinyl of my latest release: an album of walking songs, which I want to sell to everyone interested in walking and my style of music (americana-folk-country).
I have about 1000 FB fans and 400 email list subscribers, many of which already know about the album. So I was thinking FB/IG ads to find fresh customers with that specific interest targeting.
Which strategy/course would you recommend I start with?
    Thanks & best, Tobias

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Tobias,

Welcome to the Insider Circle. It’s great to have you here.

Normally I would recommend people start with the strategy in Music Marketing Manifesto 4.0. In that course I teach people how to set up an online funnel for their music. The Insider Circle is very much based around supporting that general approach. However, you certainly don’t need MMM to benefit from the IC.

Assuming you don’t have MMM 4.0 then I think the most recent “Emergency LTO” lesson might be a great place to start.

Another lesson that would give you a good overview of things is the “Long Term Monetization” lesson.

Please let me know if I can ever help with anything at all.

  • Luke Smith says:

Hey John. Joined up because I have 29 CD’s to sell. No email list, but I do have about 616 followers on my Lost Southern Boys Facebook page. Saw your emergency LTO offer and figured this would be a good time to start really learning how to generate revenue off of more than just Live performances. Thanks

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Luke,

Welcome to the IC. I can’t say that it won’t be challenging with no list. But you should at least see some movement, and that’s all we can really ask for. I would just make sure you put a small amount of advertising behind each post. Just $1/day for every 1000 in your audience. So unless you have additional audiences that would just be $1/day. You might try Reach, rather than traffic, since your audience is so small. I’d also post on your personal page and any other social accounts you have. Throw everything you have at it 🙂

Good luck and let me know how things go.

  • Don Mancuso says:

Hey all, just got in here and looking forward to doing more of what I’ve done my whole life only better hopefully. If anyone wishes to see my bio and background you can see it here at http://www.donmancuso.com
I’ve been lucky in timing and placement and I even had a former band mate and friend hit with platinum records. So I have a pretty colorful background. Just want to get the most out of my music like everyone here!

  • Robin Price says:

    Hi all
I logged on after hearing the Corona podcast and I’m pleasantly surprised about the depth of stuff on here. Thank you John.

Times are super hard right now and $20 a month for Aweber is not an option for me – especially as you’re recommending paid ads to feed the funnel.

Mailchimp is free till you get 500 subscribers (which is 480 more subs than I’ve got now) – but I can’t find ANY info about how to create a squeeze page on Mailchimp on here.

I know that MMM seems to be invested in Aweber (perhaps you are an affiliate) which is fine. But for someone starting from scratch who needs a free option – can we use Mailchimp or anything that is free? Could you point me towards someone who knows about this? I don’t really want to do a free trial on Aweber and then start paying in 60 days time – all my income streams are shut down right now.

Thanks again for the free pass.

    Robin of Loopsley (UK)

    P.S.

I’m watching the Funnel Dynamics but it keeps crashing out around the 11min mark. https://www.mmmanifesto.com/insider-circle/funnel-dynamics/

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Robin,

I can complteley appreciate where you are coming from, but Mailchimp’s “free” plan is misleading, in my opinion. While they do offer a free plan, and even have what appears to be a lower price point up until the 2000 subs point, the reality is that the features are limited to the point where you can’t do what I teach. Especially with the free plan.

The biggest issue is that (last I looked) do not offer Multi-step automation workflows. That is just marketing speak for an autoresponder (the whole point of having a tool like this). You can set up a single step autoresponder, but there is little need for that with direct response marketing. With Mailchimp you are also limited to a single audience and only 10,000 emails a month, which ads up much quicker than you think when you consider that you are sending many emails to each subscriber per month. You also have no support, which is a huge deal.

When you go for the full suite of features in Mailchimp it becomes more expensive than Aweber.

I am an affiliate for Aweber, but that is NOT why I recommend them. I disclose that fact all the time (though I reference them so often I don’t always mention it. But I would NEVER, EVER, EVER recommend that you guys buy something just because I am an affiliate. I have been an Aweber user for over a decade, and I recommend them because I feel they are far and away the better solution, especially for direct response marketing.

And the free trial link/code I offer does get you 60 days, which is a substantial amount of time to try something. You could always export your leads and close the account if you just couldn’t afford the $20/month.

My honest feeling is that if you are not in a position to spend $20/month, then you should probably use this time to learn, and practice creating content and building your audience on social media, and running the equivalent of a funnel there, in real time.

Every business requires some capital. Running an online music business requires VERY little, but it does take a little bit of money to run. I would wait until you can do it right, before proceeding.

That said, if for any reason you want to use the paid version of Mailchimp (or any other program) you definitely can do that. I just don’t personally think there is a better tool than Aweber (for the price).

There are ways you could do this with

      • Robin Price says:

Hey John – I’m not meaning to question your integrity or anything like that. Like I said – there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being an affiliate or earning money. 🙂 Since you started this – there are a few new email systems out there like Send In Blue and Moosend. They seem to offer automation. Getresponse definitely multi stage automation and it has a £7 a month plan – that also offers automation. So I guess it’s more crowded market that back in the day. Don’t worry! It’s not going to be too tricky to apply the techniques you are talking about to other platforms and migrate when I have saved up. I get that you need some capital but
I personally would rather spend the £240 a year on FB adverts (or even your premium plan when my free 60 days are up).

        Robin

        • Hi Robin,

Steve here from support. Yes email marketing does seem to be a more crowded market than it used to be. You definitely want to find something that you can manage, but also has the capabilities you need without requiring you to spend much more for them.

Let us know if we can ever help with anything else.

  • Glen Gulka says:

Hi everyone, Been meaning to try to take my music more seriously for a long while. Finally going to take the dive and commit more time and effort into building a following for my band and solo project. This seemed like a Great chance to see what this program has to offer.

I’m looking to leave the rat race I have been in for the past 15 years playing music, and actually start seeing a few dollars in my bank account for the sweat and tears I pour into my craft.
I’ll definitely do my part to be active and contribute.

  • Dean Mueller says:

Just getting started here. I am in the middle of the MMM 4 to the point of installing the plugins. I currently already have a wordpress music website with a different music type theme. Our videos, gigs, blog is all there already and I am wondering if there is specific material here that will help me fold this MM4 stuff into an already existing wordpress site instead of starting from scratch. I really do not want to do that! thanks

    • Hi Dean,

Steve here from support. Welcome to the Insider Circle!

I’d need to first clarify, are you referring to a WordPress installation onto your own domain, or are you referring to a free WordPress.com site?

Let us know and we’ll try to help.

      • Dean Mueller says:

thanks for the response. I have my own site at https://julieamici.com/. It is a hosted wordpress site on godaddy. I am in the process of going through MMM4.0 and trying to integrate into what I already have. So far I have created a thank you page and installed some of the plugins that make sense. Slowly going through the program and trying to fold it into the already existing site. Any help in that direction would be great.

        • Hi Dean,

Steve here. In that case you should simply be able to change the theme and then incorporate the pages needed for executing the strategy.

Let us know if we can ever help along the way.

    Hi John,
I just signed up for insider circle.
I have some catching up to do!
The question I have is this:
I want to construct a squeeze page but we also are going to do a more traditional website as well in the future. Can we use the same domain name for both or should they be separate entities? I want to keep it simple. Thanks

    • Hi Cary,

Steve here from MMM Support. Welcome to the Insider Circle!

You can do two separate domains if you already have an existing site that you’re happy with. That said, this can all exist on the same site.

In the MMM 4.0 course, John gives you a template for your website that includes all of the page types you need to execute the strategy, while also appearing as a traditional website.

Hi, I’m Kat Carnelian, currently based in London, England. I’ve joined the Insider Circle ages ago and never did anything with it but now I’m serious about catching up and getting busy! I’m currently planning on using this for the Understanding of Music seminar I organise but in the long run I’ll get back into playing and recording music after a very long break. I’m predominantly a rock bassist and song writer with a love for alternative / desert rock and a lot of music in my head that needs to get out! Look forward to being an active part in this community!

    • Hi Kat,

Welcome to the Insider Circle. It’s great to have you here.

We hope you enjoy all of the existing content and that we get to see you in the forums from time to time.

Please let us know if we can ever help with anything.

  • Tim Angsten says:

Hey y’all! Just joined the insider circle. Looking forward to learning as much as I can. I’m a pop/country artist based out of Nashville, TN. Been pursuing music most of my life. I now run a production company and play on Lower Broadway about 7 times a week besides doing short national tours. Always looking to meet like minded musicians!

  • Eric Hocker says:

When will there be more monthly training?

    • John Oszajca says:

      Hi Eric,

I fell behind recently in large part due to the unexpectedly early birth of my daughter. But I’m planning a bunch of lessons for the next week or so and am hoping to drop three different lessons in the next 10 days or so.

  • Eric Hocker says:

Sorry I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this. I will be recording during the live coaching call today. Is there a way to download it or record it? Thank you

    • Hi Eric,

Steve here. No worries at all. You can always get the replay under the “Coaching” tab in the members area, after the call has completed. Have a great recording session.

  • Kevin Benbow says:

I’m Kevin Benbow and I play classical guitar in and around Yuma AZ. I just had the tracks mastered for my first CD and am offering the MP3 version on my site.

Wondering if there are any other classical guitarists here?

I’m also part time. By day I am in private practice psychotherapy, but I have always wanted to make money playing music.

  • David Nigel Lloyd says:

On April 2, 2015, my good friend Michael Olson —a wonderful flamenco guitarist— died. Surprise! In the aftermath of his untimely severance, a voice inside my head kept repeating: “Finish Your Work!” It wouldn’t shut up so I decided to do as I was told. I began work on four albums: Two had actually been started —over 40 years ago— by my proto-new wave trio WatThe? I had gone acoustic after the LA new wave scene died its slow sad death. So the other two albums are: one of traditional Ballads and Blues that I’ve been performing over the last decade and a half; and one of original songs that I’ve been performing over the last decade and a half. As I began, a fan in England wrote to me: “Mr. Lloyd, it seems you are the only artist whose work bridges the LA new wave and [Celtic song poet and acid folk pioneer] Robin Williamson.” Hmm?— thought I (for it was true). Most of the music on these four albums — thought I some more— is similar even though some of it is a lot LOUDER. But what sort of music is it? New wave folk? Non-traditional traditionalism? Folk rock? The answer came in 2016 from the island of Corfu on Greece far far away. There Spyros Hytiris was preparing an hour long program on my music [?!?!] for his weekly music magazine. Quite casually during an interview, the wise and indefatigable Spyros referred to me as “an iconoclastic loner of acid folk.” I’m usually the last to know about such things but, again, on closer examination, he seemed right. — So what about that annoying interior voice? It’s back. But this time it’s saying: “You know, this music sounds kinda cool. Why don’t you try to Sell Some of It!” So, here I am.

    Hi John,

So I’ve watched a few monthly training sessions already and I’m happily overwhelmed. lol I am going to “binge” this stuff until it becomes ingrained. It seems to me that success is is the details.(and of course busting your butt). I’m sure I’ll have lot’s of comments and questions as I dig deeper into this very promising adventure. Thanks for creating and maintaining this(these) program(s).

    • Hi Drew,

Steve here from support. John is away for the weekend, but we’re all happy to hear that you’re enjoying the member content so far.
