Hey John, hope you’re well!

Just an update, and a question-

So my underperforming ad set has gone down from 4 bucks to roughly 2.50 per subscriber
-this ad set is getting about 4 subscribers per day

***

My better performing ad set has jumped from about 2 bucks to roughly 2.50 per subscriber.
-This ad set is getting roughly 8 subscribers per day

***

My squeeze page jumped from about 16% to roughly 28% when I changed the photo to the one working best in the ads (Had about 97 displays on the new photo)

-also just changed the headline to the one working best in the ads, so maybe that’ll bump the squeeze page a bit too)

***

Question - at this point, should I turn off the under performing ad set, and focus only on the best one?

btw all this info. is from the last time I checked my campaign, which was earlier today- at about the 3 1/2 day mark.

Hey John hope you're well!

Just an update from my last message-

-the squeeze page is holding at 27% after about 318 displays
-we've had 89 conversions
-currently I'm paying $1.89 per conversion within this ad set (as you'll see in the screen shot the number is higher for the campaign)

I've attached a screen shot of my ads manager - It's the image breakdown.

Right now I've got the "wes air drumming new" photo on my squeeze page.
I chose it because it's got the second highest number of conversions, and the largest number of reach and impressions...
But some of the other photos have cheaper results (esp. "wes grap hat new" at $1.05 per result) Confused

My question is -  which photo would you put on the squeeze page based on this current screen shot of my ads manager?

I would definitely be trying the one that has the subs for $1.05. I only reject good performers when the reach is really minuscule in comparison to the best performer. While the reach is less, it is not minuscule, and the number of conversions is significant, in comparison to the other ads. So definitely need to try that one. It is possible that the image has just not had enough time, and those results won't hold, but it's too good not to try.

Hey John,
So I'm gonna change my current squeeze page picture (picture A) to the one that was getting subs for 1.05 (picture B)

But first just 3 quick updates and a 2 questions...

1. Picture A is currently rockin at a 45.9% conversion rate (34 subs after 74 displays), yet costing 1.74 per sub, at 2.17 CTR
2. Picture B is hated by the other audience in this campaign (it's gotten 0 subs for that audience), yet costing 1.43 per sub in general (up from 1.05), at 2.04 CTR
3. Picture C just emerged today with the highest CTR  of 2.82, subs for 1.54

So my questions are:

1. What would you do next- Keep the current squeeze page pic? Change it to picture B? Or change it to picture C?
Also
2. Should I turn off the under-performing Ad Set at this point, or leave it going?
It's only getting about 3.4 conversions per day at 2.37 a pop after 7 days.

Thank you John!

Hi Brian, I'm a little confused by some of that. I feel like you are jumping around in time a little and I'm not sure what is doing how well, when....

It sounds like you are saying that over the last 24 hours or so you have seem subs coming in at $1.74, $1.43, and $1.53, depending on the image you use in the ad.  If that is the case, I would say it's a little too soon to pull anything as everything is pretty close and it's not clear yet.

But then elsehwere you mention $2.37 and that the ad has been going for 7 days. So I'm not clear.

I re-read what I wrote- super confusing. Sorry about that.

Probably easier to discuss on the phone during the coaching call.

The good news is the squeeze page is at 40% after 99 displays. Changing to the right headline really helped.

That's amazing. Really goes to show. You went from not bad, to excellent, with a few tweaks. You mind summarizing what you tweaked, just to refresh my memory and make it easy to find for others?

Thank you! I made one headline tweak, two picture tweaks, and kept everything else on the squeeze page the same.

For the headline I started with the Ad Text:
"Brian Rogers is a Nouveau Beatnik Bassist Songwriter who fuses jazz with rapid-fire, spoken word lyrical delivery..."

Dynamic creative then showed me that the following Ad Text was getting almost twice the conversions at nearly half the price:
"Brian Rogers is a bohemian bassist who got bars 💯 fusing jazz with rapid-fire, Spoken Word lyrical delivery..."

******************

It's hard to describe the images so I just took a screen shot of them in my ads manager, and put a number next to each one for reference. That screen shot is attached at the bottom of this message.

I started with an image on the squeeze page that's not included in that screen shot.
Then I switched to image #2 which was getting a lot of conversions, but they were too expensive...
Then I switched to image #5 which is doing well squeeze page-wise, but as you can see, it's not the cheapest.
And that's the one I have on my squeeze page now...

******************

What would you do at this point John? Leave the squeeze page as is, and wait it out since I see conversion costs slowly dropping?

OR

Would you switch the squeeze page to image #1 or 3 since those prices are a bit cheaper?

Cool. Thanks for that. I don't like making changes when things are going well. I'd probably leave it a little longer and then refresh the stats in aweber and continue to refine. Always trying to let the numbers lead you to a lower price. Let us know where things settle.

Hey John, yeah that was my instinct too. But then I messed up:

I turned off the the other Ad Set in the campaign because it was too expensive for not enough leads..

Rookie move. Now the same squeeze page picture that was doing so well isn't. Because it seems Facebooks algorithm is having to learn all over again, since I turned off that other Ad Set. Dang.

Well, lesson learned:)

Yeah, that can happen. It doesn't always, but it often does. But give it another day or two. It often recovers. If it doesn't, clone the campaign and delete the ad sets you don't need.

Hey John,

Just wanted to check back in to document how things turned out-

Just to recap, my squeeze page was doing well but then I turned off an audience within my active campaign-

That made my conversion prices jump to 3.50, and my squeeze page fell to 12%...

But just like you said, it took exactly 2 days for the algorithm to get the prices back down, and the squeeze page back up.

It may fluctuate again, but earlier today I was paying 1.20 per subscriber and the squeeze page was at 38% which I’m happy to leave alone for the time being.

Now I’m shifting my energy towards the funnel. I’ll follow up with any developments.

Thanks for suggesting that I just hang back and let the algorithm do it’s thing.

That's great to hear.

My advice on your funnel is to get away from my templates (if you are using them) and use your own voice. You've really been doing that with your social media content, and even a bit in your winning ad copy that is working at the moment. Your personality is very pleasant and easy to feel a connection to, so be yourself in the funnel and you should do well. Take the copywriting triggers and structure you've learned around here, but use to your own voice. Would love to hear some before and after stats when you have them.

Thank you John, this is great advice, and great timing for it. I will be back in touch relatively soon with funnel updates.

In the meantime, just wanted to share that am fairly blown away by Facebook’s algorithm. I refreshed my squeeze page recently so the numbers look low, but it's currently at 53% after 81 displays. Plus I'm getting subscribers for $0.86 at the moment.

It really pays to let the algorithm do it's thing for a few days. Even though my funnel’s been paused so I've essentially just been spending money, I feel like refining the squeeze page has been money well spent.

Thanks again for all your help John. Its been very valuable.

That's awesome Brian.

...but why the heck is the funnel paused!

Better to send them through something rather than nothing.

Go make some sales!
