Ezra Donner here. I have had fun playing with my squeeze page and facebook ads over the past six months or so, and I've got a new one now that I really hope will work. I've done a lot of soul-searching and spent a lot of time over the past couple of weeks revising and testing my ad copy, and this is what I've come up with for my new campaign. Fingers crossed!

Right Column ad targeting FB users in the United States interested in Classical music:

(Several identical ads targeting different age groups: 13-18, 19-22, etc.)

Squeeze Page Hosted on Facebook: (live at https://www.facebook.com/ezrad.....7251977313 )

(Only collecting emails for today--first time trying this strategy)

Going to launch now--will be in touch in a few days with results!

Cool. I have a few impressions but will save them until after you get results. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks John! I guess some more refinement is needed after all. 13 ad clicks in one day, which I think is pretty good, but unfortunately 0 subscribers. I have paused the ads after one day; here are the stats from this morning. (Numbers on the left column represent age ranges of users targeted; all ads are identical.) Please let me know if you can offer any thoughts. Thanks, Ezra

Hi Ezra,

It seems your clicks are from the worst ends of the age demographic, in my opinion. You have the most from the under 18 crowd. They will click all day long but don't often take action because they are a bit ADD. The over 50 crowd is a bit more skeptical and doesn't often understand or connect with what you are trying to do as well.

I usually advertise to a 25 - 55 year old crowd. Most of your clicks are right outside of that range. Not everyone will mirror my age demo, but I have found that most people seem to have success with a similar range.

But if we look at the CTR then we see that it's still low which indicates that the issue is either the ad or the targeting. I personally think it's the ad. I know what you were going for but "change your life" may have been a bit bold. You still might be able to find a more dynamic image as well. Don't get me wrong, nothing is bad here. But you haven't found that combination that is taking you over the hump.

All you can do is continue trying new combinations of your ad. You might try creating a duplicate ad set and targeting another audience with the same ads you create for this one, just to determine that it is the ad and not the targeting.
