After stepping down from Scary Cherry and the Bang Bangs because we had different goals, I'm very pleased to say our objectives have re-aligned, and everyone is prepared to work together to accomplish some, now better-defined, goals.

We have decided to open up the business side of things to our fans.  I think it will be good content, our fans have shown interest in the business side of music in the past, so it will be easy social media content as well as added accountability.

So here are the results from our first Facebook ad campaign.

I'm not sure how to embed on here since it won't allow iframe, but here's a link to a video which goes into more detail.

Targeted Barb Wire Dolls (US only) 19,000 audience

Total spent - $61.16 ($20 per day)

New Subscribers - 31 (37 total - 6 unsubscribed within the first few days)
Cost per click to website - $0.40 (6,544 displays - 154 clicks)
Cost per subscriber - $1.97 ($1.65 based on 37)
Click Through Rate of ad - 2.35%
Conversion rate of landing page (video) - 19.9%
The ad with just the cherry wasn't working, the other two performed about equally.

Click Thru Demos - Very little women clicked
62 - male 45-54
24 - male 35-44
18 - male 55-64
13 - male 65+

Next ad - maybe target only the men and see if the click through percentage goes up - lowering the ad price.
Test another squeeze page.

Thanks for sharing this Tony. I didn't have time to watch the entire video but your stats were helpful.

Looks like your close, but not quite there. The CTR is a bit low (but not terrible) and the conversion rate is a bit low (but also not terrible.

However if you went from a 2% CTR to a 3% CTR (just making the math easy) you would cut your costs by a third bringing you roughly to about $1.66 per sub, and if you boosted your conversion rate from 20% to 25% then you would drop your costs down to about $1.30, which is much closer.

I'd focus on those areas and see where you land.

If it was me, I would keep this stuff from the fans. I think fans want to hear about the art and not this aspect of the business. But maybe that;s just me.
