Hey John and Steve,
I'm running an engagement ad at the moment and I'm confused about my call to action button.
It's visible on the preview in my ad manager (see screenshot) but when I get notifications on engagement on my phone, there is just the photo in the ad, without the button.
I've waited a few days, in case it was some facebook bug again but I still don't see the button when I get notifications.
Do you have any idea what the issue might be?
Cheers,
Mira
Hi Mira,
Is this an organic post that are you using as your ad? As opposed to creating the ad in ads manager? If so, that is why. The organic post does not have the button, only the ad does. But when you click over, it is the organic post that you see. Not the ad. Make sense?

Hey John,
No, this ad was created from scratch in ads manager and I can see the button on the preview there, just not on the actual ad.
Weird, I guess I'll just start over and see what happens then...
Cheers,
Mira
Hi Mira,
I'll check the next time I get a notification on an ad that is created in the same way, but my assumption is that this is just the way FB is deciding to do things this week. It changes so often and so arbitrarily. But I think it is safe to assume that if you are paying for it, then it is displaying for users the way you are seeing it in the preview. Since this is one of the things you have paid for, it makes sense to me that FB would have to deliver on the promise of a call to action button. For whatever reason they seem to be displaying it differently, by the sound of it. That said, this is not something I have ever noticed and I would have thought I would have, as I have followed the same set up thousands of times. I would not feel like it was essential to start over, unless the campaign was suffering.
