Things are pretty chilled here and so far there aren't too may "rules" you need to be aware of. Here's what we have so far...

1. Don't be dick. A lively debate is awesome, simply being mean won't be tolerated. If you abuse anyone the posts in question will be deleted and you will be warned. Continued abuse may result in your account being closed. For the record no post has ever been deleted for this. So far everyone has been overwhelmingly cool around here.

2. You are free to promote anything you want in your signature, but please don't directly promote anything n your posts. You can absolutely share links to your site and to any services you want to talk about. Just keep the discussion legit and don't use affiliate links in the forum posts themselves. Affiliate links in your sig are fine. Links that are viewed as promotional will be removed. The goal is to keep this a pretty commerce free zone. We want the info shared to be info everyone can trust.

3. This is not a rule but rather a suggestion... When you have a new question, start a new topic. There is no need to tag a new thought process to an old thread simply because it's related. The more we parse the topics out, the easier it will be for people to find the info they need through the search function in the forum.

That's about it... So far so good. In my opinion there is truly nothing like the Insider Circle on the web. This forum is full of a lot of very smart and proactive musicians who ahev been overwhelmingly supportive of one another.

Keep on kickin' ass!

I always thought it was creating more clutter to start a new topic.  I'll start
new ones from now on.  Smile

No worries, I think a lot of people did. This way when you search a keyword in the forum you can find specific information broken down into nice tight topics 🙂

Your post is coming up just fine 🙂

What do you mean exactly, that your posts are not turning up in MMM?

Hey John

When I post, my comments don't show up in the thread/topic.  I spoke to Steve about and we tried different things such as using different browsers and devices but alas all to no avail

Hi Segs,

Steve here.  We're at least getting your Forum posts.  There is likely something in our various discussion filters that is being tripped by some part of your email address.  That's one possibility as to why your comments aren't showing to either members area.  I'm still looking into the issue, but I still haven't found what it may be.

Feel free to post in the forum, or to contact us by email whenever you have questions.

I'll get in touch if we sort out the comment issue.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you John for providing all these ways of helping musicians/songwriters.  I want to be clear about Forum Rule 2.  It says there will be no direct promotion but that it's completely find to share a link.  I would think that sharing a link could be viewed as promotion, so just wanted to make sure on that.  Thanks again.

Hi Ben,

Steve here from support. It's totally fine to share links. Like for instance if you share a specific url in your forum signature. John is just trying to avoid the forum area becoming overrun with links to unrelated promotional content. There is a specific forum for sharing links to your music and your forum signature can have a link as well. Just use your best judgement if you are considering a link to a promo for a product or service.

Let us know if we can ever help with anything else.

Hi Ben,

Just to add to what Steve said, you can absolutely share links for anything that is relevant to a discussion and you can share links to your music in a more direct way in the music sharing forum. I just don't want any aspect of the forum to become spammy. Moreover, my biggest concern is other marketers joining the forum to share links to other products and services, which has been a problem over the years.

But if you are just looking to share music or links to get feedback then you have nothing to worry about 🙂

And this is far from a strict environment. If anything ever became a problem we would let you know 🙂
