Hey John, I've begun getting content together for my monthly membership program and it's going well. I found a cool system to do video interviews with my ipad so the audio sounds great! It's dual lavalier mics that have an adapter that fits into the headphone jack and I use a $5 app called filmic pro.
I have some questions about the best way to do remote interviews and screen recordings like the ones you do.
1. When you do your audio interviews are you just recording a skype call? If you are doing something else to ensure audio quality, what is it?
2. When you do screen recordings are you just using the internal mic? If not, do you use a usb mic? If so, which one?
3. Are you creating a presentation in keynote (or the pc equivalent) when you do the screen recordings?
4. Do you have any thoughts about a/v content vs audio only content. I can see the value of either. Some people may have an easier time listening to audio content on the go. Some people might prefer the engagement of a/v content.
Let me know and thanks!
Julianna
Hey Julianna,
1. I am just recording a skype call. Audio sucks but my focus is just getting stuff out there. Getting a better sounding solution is on my to do list. Will I get to it? Who knows. I use something simply called skype recorder.
2. I use a simple logitech USB mic.
3. I usually create something in Powerpoint and then simply record it with Camtasia, while I speak.
4. I surveyed people once and they liked video first, then PDF, then audio. I personally like audio. Not sure if the survey would yield the same results now. You might try the same.
Hope that helps.
