QuoteHey John, I was approached by the owner of this channel: youtube.com/relaxinglounge to rent her description boxes on her vids for $59/month. She claims I will see 14 click throughs a day of targeted leads, which is what she says she is currently getting and she has shown me screen shots:

But I don't understand how to interpret what I'm seeing. $59/months seems worth trying but I don't want to associate myself with her channel if she's doing anything black hat. Although those numbers seem too low for black hat stuff.
What's your advice? Anything to lose by giving it a try?

I've seen quite a few people do this in the past. You're just paying for traffic that someone else owns. Sounds like it would be about .14 cents a click, which isn't bad. I suppose the key is just figuring out if there is any confusion in the what the text around the link says, as apposed to where visitors land. For example if it said "Go to my site http::/link.com" then you would be associated with her channel, which you stated you don't want. It doesn't sound black hat at all. The association is the only thing you need to consider. It's not a lot of money to spend really, so there isn't too much to lose financially. It's a strategy I've seen used before. Your call.

I think it's worth a try. I can probably specify what I want in the box. So, something like: Discover how to transform your life listening to your favorite music for just 10 minutes a day with Harvard approved meditation techniques
and then a link to my site?

Yeah, that's teh idea. Just make sure you start with your link, as Youtube truncates those descriptions pretty quickly.
