I just wanted to touch a bit on Video 6 in this months training. The link to PR news didn't work for me, but I did find a page for them still under construction at http://www.prnews.com  WRONG LINK! See the right link in Johns post below!

Also just out of curiosity, I did a Google search like John described in the video for searching the title of his release, but instead I entered the name of a CD I released some time ago. I got a few thousand results, and I even found someone who had done some research and put together a review. I know they did the research, because I recognized some of the statements they used from several other sources I have seen in the past. How cool is that! I'm going to keep checking as I apply more of what I am learning in MMM2.0 and the Insiders Circle. I'm sure the results will improve.

What would a jam session with Gordon Lightfoot, Collective Soul, and Damien Rice sound like?

Check out Greg Parke and you’ll have a pretty good idea!

Sorry about that, there was an error in the code. The site is "Online PR News" not PR News.

Here is the correct URL: http://www.onlineprnews.com/

I also have an interview recorded with the owner of the company and will post it soon. I just want to give folks time to difest the recent videos I posted in the library.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the right link John. It appears that the link I found may be for a company trying to copy Online PR News with a similar name? I followed the link you just gave and it is definitely not the company I came across with the page still under construction. Sorry about that!

No worries at all. Many of them have very similar names. Again, thanks for letting me know the link wasn't set right.

Just listened to this set of videos thanks. I've only ever sent press releases to specific targeted places so this looks interesting. But I wonder if this method makes sense for a more niche type of music. In my case Irish folk/ singer songwriter. Will there be specific world music or folk or magazines of Irish Interest on their lists?

Also how would you view sending to podcasters and online radio through other similar distributors?

Again Great to see this technique in action,

Enda

The biggest benefit you will see from online press releases is from online traffic. Though attracting journalists is not out of the question. But what you really want to be doing is targeting the right keywords. I recommend you check out the interview with the co-founder of PR News in the Insider Interviews section.

As far as attracting podcasters and niche specific outlets, I would contact them directly and pitch them (per the second part of that lesson).

Incidentally, some new press release services I am looking at trying are http://www.pressreleasemonkey.com when I'm looking for Search Engine impact, and http://www.ereleases.com when I have some money to drop on a record release.

The key here is to always make sure you are promoting "real news", especially when using one of the expensive services.
