Hi Joe and all folks, it's just a pleasure and an honor to be here with you!

I'm from Rio de Janeiro and play on a grunge band since 2007 (before that I have several years performing with other bands). I am also a music producer (or record producer, don't know exactly how to call my job in English). But now my focus is on releasing my wife's singer career. Owner of an incredible voice, she also performed for years on what we call here "the underground scene".

We are at the final lap to complete her album and on this meantime I "met" John and his MMM. For this reason, I'm excited to apply those technicques here at the Brazilian context.

The reason I wrote this topic is that, after seeing all Press Release's videos, I got me thinking if this whole thing of an online publicing service is worth here in Brazil, or if they're specific to English language countries. Of course we are focusing also on international marketing (and producing a song in English), but the major of his work is sang in Portuguese.

I would like to hear your opinions.

Hi Sergio,

If I'm reading your question correctly, you are asking if the techniques that are taught in this forum are specific to English speakers?  And if that is your question, then the answer is "no."  You can apply these techniques no matter what
your market base or your language is.

However, I would suggest that if you want to reach English speakers with your marketing,
that you definitely have someone very good at English to edit your copy and things that you post online to
try and gain traffic.  It can really turn potential English-speaking buyers off to see poor English because the
image that appears in their mind is someone that has no idea what they are doing, they quit trying to read it,
and click elsewhere.

It also will not instill confidence in your potential fan/buyer and you won't build a "lead" like that.

Fortunately, my wife really dominate the English language!

But the core of my question is if the techniques about the publicists questions are valid here in Brazil, because PRWeb and other services attends English language places, and there is no specific service for Portuguese speakers, cause marketing in Brazil, IMO, is growing up slowly and behind the rest of the world.

Hi Sergio,

There are a couple of benefits to online press releases. One of the major ones is traffic from online search engines. I'm not totally sure what the reach of a press release is in a foreign language. If you can find a site that distributes them I'd bet that it might actually be better because the competition would be so much less. You would probably need to contact each of the press release services individually and find out if they distribute releases in other languages. If that doesn't turn anything up then just run a Google search for "Portuguese press release distribution" and see what terns up.

 

If you are talking about publishing English releases in Brazil, that would work fine. You just need to make sure you choose the right keywords.

Hey Sergio,

I'm not really sure about the benefits of Portuguese press releases, however if the market is under-served in Brazil then it's a prime opportunity for you to pioneer the method for Brazilians.  Take advantage of an undervalued traffic source if you can.

Another thing you can look into is areas in the United States that have a higher concentration of Brazilians and promote  yourself to them in Portuguese.  I used to hang out with a lot of Brazilians (best barbeques EVER) and I can tell you that Newark, New Jersey is the spot for Brazilians in the Eastern United States.

But definitely take advantage of press releases in Brazil because I'm sure their news outlets are just as hungry for stories as any other news outlet.

John and Steve, thanks for the replies.

I don't know if there are brazilians here in Insider Circle or if there are brazilians owners of MMM 2.0, but I think that no one is using this method, or something like this, here in Brazil. I sure want to be the first, Cool.

My only fear is about people's reception since brazilians are not used to buy online. But this fear won't stop me!

If they don't buy online you might have a smaller demographic to work with. But you won't know until you try. It may turn out that you have more success in other markets where people speak Portuguese. For example, you can target Portuguese speaking  people in the US, or really anywhere in the world. But I would start close to home and see what happens.
