Thanks for the critique of my squeeze page, John.  One question:  Where can I download the lighter template you mentioned?  I'd like to get it and experiment because my conversion rate isn't near to what I'd like.

Thanks.

Hey Lawrence,

The Wordpress theme that most people are using is included for free in Music Marketing Manifesto 3.0.

However, there is a similar looking html template that you can get for free here in the IC. It's available in this lesson: https://www.mmmanifesto.com/in.....e-template

The wordpress template can do a lot more, but that template will get you the same look and feel as the wordpress template.

Cheers.

Thanks John for a great lesson!

I'm currently redesigning my squeeze page to match my new album, so I missed out on having you look at it during a monthly lesson. All the tips you gave on other pages will help in the design of mine, and I needed all the reminders of how to do it right. Mostly what I got out of the lesson is that the wording and the imagery need to match the genre, and to make sure to be clear about who you are and what you're offering.

I'm also very glad you looked at Ezra Donner's page. I'm glad to know there's another classical composer on this forum. I'll have to contact him, and perhaps we can compare notes. Thanks a bunch!

Sounds good Doug. Glad you were able to get some good info from the lesson even though your site wasn't reviewed. And yes, be sure to connect with Ezra. Cheers.

Hey John and y'all,

I'm a bit new here so I might be a little out of step with forum etiquette. I've done 2 revisions of my squeeze page since you reviewed my site. #1 is a softer approach to a certain sensitive male singer/songwritery audience, speaking more to the beachy lifestyle of the listeners desires and mentioning the reggae songs I throw into my set (which I thought I'd bite the bullet and use that angle since I do also have dreadlocks...). Probably Michael Franti fans, maybe Jack Johnson or Ben Harper type crowd.

And #2 was inspired by that far out MMM band who has a 20% sales rate that you recently interviewed. It was also inspired by the branding lesson. It's more me, a little more raw and honest to what I actually do live which is a singer songwriter thing, but it also involves looping and funky bass playing and drumming. A one man show really.

Currently I like #2 more. This target I'm guessing is more Reggie Watts fans or Ed Sheeran even (I'm forgetting one really prominent looping dude but in general that looping crowd... Is it Bret Dennan?). I'll have to test both to see which performs better, who my real audience is, but here are both new squeeze page revisions in the interim. Please feel free to give me 1st impressions and that goes for anyone not just John.

#2     http://www.brianrogersmusic.co.....t-squeeze/

Thanks again John for critiquing the original squeeze page, means a lot -Brian

Hey Brian, I totally see where you're trying to go with it, but I don't know if you're quite there yet, in my opinion. The first one is much clearer to me, but the second one conjures up more imagery. I just don't know if you've quite nailed it yet.

What about something like...

Brian Rogers' Laid Back Island Rhythms, Hypnotic Drum Loops, and Soulful Bass Grooves, Will Instantly transport You to a Sunny, Sea-Side Hammock. Just Sit Back, Close Your Eyes, and Hit Play - Carona Not Included."

...And Today You Can Download Three of Brian's Latest Singles FREE!

Not sure about the word "grooves" but bass line didn't quite seem to do it either. But that was just a quick take. keep in mind, I'm not familiar with your music off hand so I'm going totally off of the vibe you are putting forward. I was sort of bassing it around that Jack Johnson vibe. I may not have it right. That was also just an idea. Only testing will tell you what will work and won't worl.

Hi John,

Thank you so much for doing the reviews. I learned a lot from your comments on all the pages including my own squeeze page. It helped me to become clearer on who I am as a musician and what my music is about. So I changed the main headline and my photo. I feel the page is much improved. You wouldn't have another look and tell me how it feels to you now?

Many thanks,

Hey Rita,

Happy to take a look. that's what this forum is for :-)

I think the headline is definitely improved. Might be able to smooth out something in the language another 5% (it was just somewhere in the "comforted and uplifted that I stumbled for a sec, maybe both aren't needed?). But I think it gives me a clearer feeling for what you do.

The picture has pros and cons to me. It definitely has a warm cuddly feel to it, and there are a lot of people who LOVE their cats. I think this might connect with an older audience of women who like sensitive songs, and, well... cats. And I actually think that might be a strong angle, because that is definitely a type. Only thing I'm iffy on is the fact that the pic hides your face. It also makes me start thinking about cats, rather than music a bit. But I would try it. It's one of those pics that wouldn't shock me if it skyrocketed conversions or hurt them. Really think about your targeting with this one.

All in all though, I like the changes.

Thank you, John.

I'm happy you think the headline is well improved. Yes, I think I'll leave out the word "comforted". It makes me stumble, too.

I had to laugh when I read your take on that "me and the cat" photo. Yea, I'll give it a try anyway and focus on skyrocket conversions!Laugh I feel pretty good about this page now. It's very much me. Thanks again, and best wishes!

Finally got through the lesson this week, thanks for the feedback, John! Great ideas. No worries on disrespect on photos, we're looking for honest reviews to make our marketing more effective. We're currently readying another EP and podcast release in October and branding is going to be super important, so I'll definitely be coming here for feedback from everyone when we get there!

Awesome Mike, glad that everyone took the comments in this lesson as they were intended, as just one person's constructive criticism. Looking forward to seeing you guys ramp up for the next release.
