As you well know by now, at the heart of everything I teach is the concept of list building. However, no matter how hard we try, a portion of our list is going to go cold and stop opening our emails. Fortunately there are a few things you can do to win back those fans. In this lesson we'll discuss the importance of email list maintenance and I'll give you a six part email series designed to help you reengage your email subscribers that have stopped opening your email and turn them into active fans once again.

You can find the latest IC lesson here: https://www.mmmanifesto.com/in.....-your-fans

If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, just leave a post below.

Enjoy!

Thanks John for the lesson!

I've been wondering what to do about those who don't open my e-mails. I don't have to wonder any more. The holidays are coming up soon, so I don't know when I'll implement this. I should probably do it soon to get them reengaged before I start sending out Christmas promotions. When I do, I'll let you know how it goes. I'll have to reword the e-mails a lot, but thanks for the templates. It's always harder to start from scratch. I find it a lot easier to reword an existing e-mail series. Thanks a bunch!

Hey John,

Via your lesson, the one issue I had was trying to figure out if we are supposed to create a new list through Aweber and add the list segment or if we are supposed to send out a broadcast message series.

Also, I have a handful of people who still have "confirmation pending" statuses from months or even a year ago. I'm guessing they never clicked the link to subscribe. Is there a way to send them a similar "winback" type of message to remind them that they never subscribed?

Thank you!

LOL, nevermind ... duh. You said to use a broadcast message in the lesson. I must have zoned out. Still would like to know your thoughts on pending subscribers, though.

Hey Cary,

Glad you sorted out that issue. Unfortunately, as far as I know there is no way of containing people with pending status via aweber. I believe the concern is that some people may have entered fake addresses, which could inadvertently be someone else's actual email. And by allowing clients to email those people Aweber would be facilitating spam without intending to. Sorry I can't be more help. Might be worth reaching out to Aweber and asking in case something has changed on that front.

Hey Wendy,

Not sure what tools Mailchimp offers in terms of list segmentation, but I would assume they can do something similar. I would just email them and explain that you are hoping to send an email to only the people who have not opened an email of yours in over 6 months (or whatever) and ask them how to do that. If they don't have a way of doing it definitely let us know.
