Also, Tim (and perhaps a limited number of others), I think I have mine dialed in pretty well -- I am happy to help you get yours up and running once you get your SSL. Just PM me. I'm decent at Photoshop, and can help you get it looking like mine...errrr...assuming you want yours to look like mine! LOL! I think it looks pretty freakin' great though! LOL! I know we all have different talents, and I'll probably need yours someday!

Again, here's mine, so you can decide if you want my help: https://www.facebook.com/Lange.....5602407221

Ok, I'm stuck on this SSL thing. It seems no one's FB squeeze page, except Charlie's, displays in my browser (Chrome). I used the "free" SSL adapter from a fiver gig and my squeeze page does not display. Charlie recommended getting the $15 SSL, but unfortunately, my host doesn't offer such an affordable option. SSL prices at my host start at $70.

I would like to purchase a 3rd party SSL for cheap, but don't really have an idea how I would install it. It seems you need to do a "CSR" first and some other things. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hey Tim,

Check out these options: http://webdesign.about.com/od/.....icates.htm

There are a few free ones which I wouldn't use for anything important, but they may work for what you need. If nothing else, there are some cheap paid options as well. Try the free ones and let us know how they work for you.

It seems the problem is that GoDaddy does not allow one to install an SSL for one's domain. They only allow it as a very expensive, $70, upgrade.

I did use the Start SSL free link to get an SSL, but it just "certified" my browser. They didn't provide me with anything that I could upload on to my domain space, and didn't ask me where I wanted to put it. Just follow these steps and "voila," your browser will now make frightened websites feel safe.

I guess I'm just SOL until my hosting package expires and I can switch hosts.

Right, but did you try pasting the new https domain into the app. It has to do with how browsers read the site, I believe, so while it may seem like a pretty crappy SSL (which it probably is), it may still work for the app.

When I went to their site, I chose the Express Lane option. I filled out the required information (name, business, phone etc.) Then they put it under their review process. Then, my browser went to a page that had a box to enter an authentication code. They sent me an email with the code and I entered it into the box. After that, I received a link and another code via email. I followed the link from the email and entered the code and was approved. Then there were some directions about how to install the certificate with Google Chrome, so I never got an https domain name and they never asked for my domain.

Their page clearly says "Web Server Certificates" on the free option, so I don't know what I should have done differently.

It seems like you should just be able to select a domain name, provide your info, have them verify it, and get some sort of certificate code to stick at the root of said domain or something.

Hmmm, I'm not familiar with those platforms so I can't really comment. But you might contact them. You may also just be able to approach Dreamhost about getting something for the base price, without a big hosting plan. A paid service may be the only way to insure that you won't have the browser issue. I'll need to look into it more.

Wow Charley, you have a great site and have figured all this out. I am still in confusion with much troubleshooting.

I noticed that John you're squeeze page is not showing on facebook. Is there a reason for that?

Hi JaZz-Elle! First of all, thanks for the compliment! However, a more accurate statement might be, "You have figured all this out for your unique set of circumstances!" LOL!

If you have Dreamhost as your hosting company, it is cheap to get a security certificate, which is what I recommend. If you use Aweber for your mailing list, I recommend using the HTML version of the signup form. Once I did those two things, everything worked perfectly.

If your circumstances are similar to mine, and you're having trouble, feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to help you. If your circumstances are different and you're having difficulties, Scott James is my go-to web person: http://ihelpmusicians.com/. Scott is a forum member, which is how I met him. He is really good at figuring out the technical issues.

Hey everyone,

Been running quite a few FB ads and noticed that most of my numbers come from people using their mobile devices.  The FB Squeeze pages don't seem to show up on mobile devices, at least not on my iPhone.  Has anyone figured out a workaround?

If you're going to send traffic from Facebook ads to your Facebook squeeze, limit your options for the ad display to desktop devices. This is something you can do when you're creating your ad.

I have been doing a bit of Facebook advertising also, and my best results have been with mobile users. Therefore, I have been limiting my ad display to mobile devices, and then sending them to my mobile squeeze page. My mobile squeeze page has been converting at around 40 to 50%. That's with a sample size of about 700. So, I am *very* confident in how my mobile squeeze pages perform.

I do get subscribers from my Facebook squeeze page, but they are incidental. In other words, I have not been sending paid traffic to my Facebook squeeze page.

I have just come to the conclusion that, when it comes to Facebook, mobile is where it is at. At least for me. Facebook says that most of its traffic is from mobile users. Plus, my mobile squeeze pages convert so much better than my desktop ones. That's been my experience anyway...

Thanks Charley. That's great, 40-50% conversion.  Mobile is doing well for me too.  I'm going to try out a new app that let's you make a FB squeeze page that mobile users can see.  The appeal is that it's supposed to be cheaper clicks since it's on FB.  We'll see.  It's called Social Mobile Press by http://www.socialpostpress.com. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for sharing the info Charley.

Arif - I believe the mobile squeeze page Charley is talking about is the one I offered in the mobile squeeze page lesson. It's different from a normal Facebook Squeeze page. You can find the lesson in the right navigation column in the main IC members area. Just in case you missed that one.
