Has YouTube taken away the ability to see tags? I have looked on several videos now,
and cannot see tags where they used to be after clicking "show more" on the description
box.
Very interesting. They did. I didn't realize it until you raised the question.
This from Youtube:
"Tags no longer appear on this page - this isn't a bug, but a change that went out this week. Having them on the watch page, in some cases, gave users an opportunity to abuse tags by copying them from other videos. We also didn't see much usage of tags by the average viewer.
Though tags don't appear on the video page, anyone who uploads should keep adding them to your videos. Tags are still used to aid the discoverability of your videos like they have before, the only difference now is that they don't appear on the video page"
But... you can still see the tags by simply going to the video page, right clicking, and selecting "view page source". Then control f to find "keywords" you will see all the keywords the person is using.
Not sure who this is going to slow down. But it suggests to me that those tags are actually quite important.

Yeah, I was going to suggest the "view source" work around. That's what I'll use.
Thanks
Thanks for the tip on this.
I read recently that you should put as many keywords in your tags as possible on Youtube. Is that true or is it wise to limit it?
Thanks,
Enda
Hey Enda, I hadn't come across that particular strategy but it's very possible that more is better in this instance. i simply use the strategy outlined in my Youtube lesson. I swipe those from the top three ranking videos and add a few of my own that make sense but are missing.
