Hi John, Steve. I just want to firstly say thank you for the insider circle tutorials. They are proving to be a really big help in showing where I might be going wrong. I've recently been running my fourth or fifth FB campaign with a revised Ad text which I thought might do better but unfortunately bombed so I decided to go back to the drawing board. I went back and did some research into who may be my target audience(s) and what are the characteristics of my music. My research revealed that the way I hear my music is different from how others hear it as it is a fusion of a few different styles and hard to pinpoint. But after seeing the USP lessons I was able to come up with some new headlines for the Squeeze page and ad text. Here is what I came up with
''John Gallagher is a 21st-century Alt-folk troubadour with a city groove and a classic soul voice.''
''John Gallagher’s songs reflect some of the romantic ideals of the beat generation and sung with the energy of a modern bluesman''
''John Gallagher is a progressive folk /Rhythm and blues artist with ideals from the beat culture, delivered with the voice of a classic soul singer''.
Here's a quick summary of my sound to try and put it in context. I'm an acoustic folk-blues and world music fingerstyle guitarist with a funky syncopated rhythm section and sings about the ideals derived from the beat culture and I have a strong soulful voice. My audiences when I run another campaign will be more on the lines of Terry Callier, Tim Buckley, and Richie Havens. Any feedback on these latest headlines etc would be greatly appreciated. Sorry, it's a little long-winded but I'm very grateful and ill keep refining it where needs be. Thanks again, guys . Keep safe and Happy . John
Hi John,
My apologies for the slow reply. I've been traveling and have been largely offline for the last few days.
Can you possibly post a link to a song or two?
By beat culture, are yo referring to classic 50s Beatnik culture?
And what makes a modern bluesman modern to you? As apposed to just a blues singer?
And who did you target in your last ad?
U'm only asking these questions to get a better sense of what your going for?

Hi John .So sorry . I missed this email somehow. Since I sent you those ad texts, squeeze page headlines I've reviewed all of them. Because my music is so difficult to describe I've had to sit down and put my thinking cap on.My newest and
best performing text is ''John Gallaghers groove-driven alt-folk can lead you a world that aspires to be a calmer place'' .
I know you're busy but i'll link the first two tracks of my EP.I'd be happy to hear if you think the music matches my descriptions. Thankyou .
Hi John,
That link isn't working for me. Please repost.

Hi John,
Sorry, that link is not working either. Looks like you you have missing characters in it. Please try to post it somewhere (such as your drive) so I can listen without downloading. Thanks.

Hi John,
I got the email and was able to download the tracks. They gave me some trouble and froze up my player a few times. It's possible it was my machine, but you should just make sure others aren't having any issues with the tech.
To me, your music is very reminiscent of singer songwriters like James Taylor, but where as he leans pop, you lean a little more mystical. At least that is my take. I'm sure if you ask 10 different people you'll get 10 different answers.
To answer your questions, I do think your music matches the description. That said, I'm not convinced that headline does the best job possible of expressing your unique selling proposition, and I think it is likely you could describe your music in a way that would be more compelling than what you have.
What are your thoughts?

Hi John .Thank you very much for the feedback. yes, other people have put me in the same vein as James Taylor and David Crosby, etc. That particular headline has not done badly and I have picked up about fifteen new subscribers over two campaigns using that particular headline/ad text. Saying that, I can see what you're saying and I'm always willing to review and rework it. Thanks for your
Advice John . Always much appreciated.
My pleasure John. Glad I could help.
