Hi there,

Firstly I'd like to say hi to everyone and thanks to John for MMM4, it's a great course.

I'm wondering about the benefits of releasing albums compared to releasing EPs.

I make a variety of electronic music roughly split into 4 genres - Breaks - House - Dubstep and Downtempo/Chill out music

At present I have 3 EPs on Bandcamp - https://coral.bandcamp.com/

I have 30-40 unreleased tracks that I'm happy with, would it be better to release 2 multi-genre albums with 12/13 tracks or 4 EPs of one genre each?

I want to put together a good upsell package so I want to get these tracks released (on my bandcamp page)

The genre thing isn't such an issue, I'm just wondering what the best way is to release these tracks to sell them effectively using the MMM method.

I hope this is clear,

Thanks,

Guy

Hi Guy,

My apologies for the slow response. I've been traveling for the last 5 days or so and have just returned to the desk. Normally replies will be much quicker.

Thanks for the kind words about MMM. I really appreciate it.

The only real problem I have with EPs is that you can't charge as much as you can for an album, and profiting is quite challenging with paid ads so we want to have as much profit as possible. That said, if your upsell numbers are string then you might be able to make it all work with an EP. The only real way to know is to start a campaign using what you have, take a look at the numbers, and if they don't work, you can change things up a bit by increasing the price of your initial offer.

That make sense?

Thanks again Guy.
