Hi All - I'm a numbers geek so I whipped up this simple spreadsheet that I'm going to use to track conversions from squeeze page views to list signups to sales.

http://bensommer.com/misc/Sale.....rsions.xls

Its a bit manually intensive to compile each stat from google analytics, mailchimp and bandcamp. But since I'm starting so small, I don't care really. If anyone knows of an easier automated way to do this let me know.

Let me know if you're not able to download or use the sheet for yourself.

Thanks for sharing the spreadsheet Ben. But for some reason I can't access the spread sheet so I'm not sure what you're tracking.

I am not uber thorough but I do definitely track. All I do is closely monitor my web form tracking to see my unique conversion rate for the squeeze page. For subscriber value I simply divide money earned by subscribers and I update it every so often. Then of course I subtract expenses. Fairly simple.

I've also recently started relying more on 1shoppingcart. It's a bit pricy but they have add tracking which tells me precisely how much money each traffic source has generated for me. I know aweber has some kind of customer value tracking as well but I haven't looked into it much.

Here's the spreadsheet. It was a google spreadsheet. This should work. Simple - just plugin squeeze page views, list signups, and sales for any given day. Conversion is computed.

Of course if your sales becomes a monster machine, this model may not be accurate (i.e. people buying from any number of channels, not just your sales funnel). But useful for newbies.

Awesome, thanks for sharing that. Do you ever look at web form conversion tracking? I love that feature. Do you have it with whatever autoresponder you use?

Hey Ben!

Nice to meet you. Looks like we have a few things in common: numbers geek, free market believer, hmm... Nice to meet you.

Thanks for posting the spreadsheet. Looks similar to some of the things I do, but I track on a monthly basis. I also take advantage of Aweber's webform conversion tracking.

Mailchimp - need to see if they have it. If they do, yeah I can skip the whole squeeze page view-to-signup columns in my sheet.

I also realized a problem with the sheet. I need to roll up the time periods to weekly or monthly, since obviously a sale made today isn't likely to be from a list signup made today. If I just sum up the statistics by 2 weeks (my sales funnel autoresponder sequence takes 10 days to complete) or 1 month to be more accurate.

See my last reply - you're dead right.
