Now that page expiration robot has a countdown for static html pages...What are your thoughts on putting a countdown a squeeze page?

Hi Dean,
I don't know, man. It's an interesting thought, but I'm not sure you would need limited time on a squeeze page.
I mean, if you are using a true "squeeze page", then they only have the option to either sign up or don't. I'm not sure if making a timed thing is overkill, but then again it could improve you opt-in rate.
The only way to know for sure is to test it.
I'm also considering using a "reverse squeeze page". Essentially this is where you give them the option of signing up or not, but you take it one step further and give them a link to stream the tracks without signing up. When they choose the streaming option, you let them stream the tracks but reiterate your call to action to sign up for the follow-up campaign.
I've seen this used in other markets quite successfully, but I have not yet tested it with a music offer. The reason I'm thinking of trying it with music is two-fold:
1) I heard a lot of people question whether or not people will sign up for a music mailing list when they are not even sure if they like the music first. Which is a totally reasonable question.
2) If someone opts into your list before hearing the music, then decides they don't like the music afterall, then they are no longer a lead at that point and they are just taking up space in your autoresponder. Might as well sort them out on the front-end.
Again, I'd have to test this to see if there is any advantage at all to doing it this way.
Dig that....Yes. Thats an interesting idea. And definitely worthy of testing. I might give that a go as well. At least the subs you have already like the music....

Honestly, I didn't know that update was out. I knew it was coming but hadn't looked in a while. That's awesome to hear. I need that bad.
I personally think it will boost your subscription rates. But yeah, it needs to be tested.
I would try something like setting it so that it ends within just an hour or two. Then you could redirect people to a different offer, or maybe even your "official site". Just something that looks different enough that people don't think you were full of shit.
I like this idea myself, but it really is hard to say until it's tested.
