Getting Sent To the Spam Folder

I turned off my opt-in form for my introductory list in A-Weber that gets people subscribed. However, I just noticed that the email is being sent to my Spam folder automatically. Is this because of having the opt-in disabled?

I really don't want to enable it because I have had many subscribers sign up and then not click the opt-in form, and I don't like that when I'm paying for them via advertising.

Is there any way around this? I've noticed that about half my list that I've gained since I started advertising 2 weeks ago hasn't even opened up the introductory email, that has the free-download link in it. After seeing this. I think this may be the reason.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey Joe,

I wouldn't be able to comment on deliverability issues. You would need to call Aweber about that. I have not had any issues with Aweber in the spam folder. But they will tell you to turn on the opt-in requirement as it;s better for them.

Deliverability will definitely go down when you turn off the opt-in, but subscribers will go up so I see it as a bit of a wash on that front, with the added benefit being that you can pixel more subscribers and let your ads do the work of driving them through your funnel.

The biggest reason the open rate drops is because a percentage of people will use fake emails or emails they don't monitor, much more so than spam issues.

But definitely contact Aweber to see what they have to say.
