I'm sure some of yall are getting the emails about CDBaby offering weekly trend reports for Itunes.  What do you think?

Im thinking it might be useful to see the result of my campaigns in Itunes sales.  I never push Itunes sales.  But I do know that many of my subscribers only purchase music on Itunes.  So, despite my best efforts to push the CD sale, they are going to buy from Itunes.  So, it might be nice to at least see if Itunes sales are seeing a spike when I do a big push to my list...??

What do you think?

Yeah, the absence of immediate itunes stats is one of the more irritating aspects of selling through them. I still don't like itunes because there is no opportunity for an upsell and you can't even run a standard bonus offer in exchange for the order ID because itunes doesn't deliver it for a few days. But you're definitly right that people are most comfortable ordering through them. Myself included.

On my next album I don't plan to offer it on itunes for several month's. I want to get all the main sales in through my own funnel and then I will release it through itunes after the activity dies down. It's a nice excuse for a second tier promo.

I've been looking at the weekly stats that Tunecore give during the last release I did and in general it was helpful even though it was at a small enough level. So I'd say it can only be good unless they are going to charge more for it as tunecore kind of did a while ago. I'm actually just noticing that people are buying all single tracks and not the album. Even that feedback might suggest we should be pushing the album links more than just the individual song links.
