Hey John I hope you’re well, and I hope your family is well during this crazy time. Due to the cancellation of shows, a lot of musicians are live streaming. And they are posting their Venmo or cash app names for people to tip them..

I like this, but could there be a better way to do it? Seems folks are essentially giving Venmo and cash app theit traffic.

*Can we set up a “Tip jar” page on our own site? (so we can pixel anyone who visits)

*What could that “tip jar” page have on it? Maybe some thank you copy and a customized paypal button for tipping? (And maybe an image of an open guitar case with money in it?)

Hi Brian,

I answered this in your other thread so there is some copy and paste here with a few additions...

As I said in the other thread...

Yes, you could do exactly what you are asking by using the “pay what you want” strategy that I just covered here: https://www.mmmanifesto.com/in.....-you-want/

The difference of course would be the way you position the offer. I wouldn’t even use a sales page if you were soliciting tips online. Just set up a nice clean redirect such as https://www.brianrogersmusic.com/tips

And then direct to the pay what you want link. Then set up a redirect to an aweber form, and then redirect to a thank you page that functions like an upsell page after people ad their details. I’d also recommend adding a few follow up emails to the customer list to push the upsell for a few days after the order, just to make sure you hit those that close the page without reading. Make sense?

But to address your question about creating your own page, I don't think it's necessary in this instance because you are adding an extra click, and the only traffic that is going to donate anything is warm traffic. So I think a direct link is likely best, but I do like your idea of the upsell page, and have outlined how you could do it above.

Cheers.

Ahh I see- I really gotta check out this lesson so I know how the direct link works.

The only thing I could envision was creating a whole separate sales page. But that felt clunky. Thank you for creating a custom solution.

Curious to see how the Aweber form fits in. And at which point in the process people enter their details. I will get back to this thread after I check out the lesson.

Yes I like the upsell idea too. Maybe I’ll create a page similar to the upsell I have. Just adding that buying it would be a big help -like the ultimate “tip”- which is helpful since us musicians are going through “hard times” right now. Might add that image of the open guitar case.

Wouldn’t want to come off as “beggy.” In fact, I’ll mainly stick to the position that they are getting crazy amounts of good music in the box set, at a stupid low one time only price.

I would just want to use the ”coronavirus is putting hard-working musicians outta work” angle as an extra tug to get them off the fence.

I’ll finesse it, see if I can come up with something classy.

I like the idea of creating a follow up serious for the upsell👍🏾

I think that all sounds good. Good luck with it and keep me posted on how it goes. Stay safe out there.
