Hey John, when I was setting up the link description using dynamic creative, I chose four different versions of copy. But I didn’t choose a blank option with no copy.
I tried just leaving it blank but that didn’t work.
I remember something about “Empty String” being the copy that triggers FB to make a blank link description happen?
*btw am I trippin about that? I just remember that vaguely from the viseMenn campaign you scaled up - but I didn’t have the guts to try it this time, in case the link description literally read “Empty String” to viewers lol
So I guess - how do I set up a blank, no text link description?
Thank you!
Hey Brian,
The empty strings thing didn't come from me.
To test no link description I just add a new option and leave it blank. I've done that a LOT, and it has always worked. That said, I have not done it in at least a few months so it's possible something has changed, as things are always changing in the ads manager.

Gotcha. Yeah I figured that was probably Facebook that put empty string.
As far as why leaving it blank didn't take for me, I bet it was just human error. I'll try again on my next campaign.
Sounds good!
