I read in another post here that it's a good idea to do a test funnel on back catalog.
What if that back catalog is under a different name?
I've got albums I can sell as Cousin Isaac but only a couple of pre-release demos to use as mailing list bribes for Isaac Toast, which I am in the process of setting up now.
Would you recommend setting up a funnel for my old stuff under the old name and let fans discover the new brand and music on their own or down the line...
OR
Would you focus on the new brand but sell the old catalog with an explanation about the name change as part of my story?
(I suppose I could also re-relase the old music under the new name but then would have to get all new ISRC / UPC numbers and that seems like it could cause problems.)
Anyone else here rebranded and have advice?
Thanks!

Hey Isaac,
My apologies for the slow reply. I somehow missed this when it came in.
It's really up to you.
On the one hand, I like the idea of you getting familiar with the process with something to sell and some potential to make your money back. But on the other hand, It's a lot of work for a brand that you have essentially moved on from. Both options are reasonable.
If it were me, I'd probably focus on the future and use those older albums as part of a box set upsell, and use this shortcoming as motivation to create more music and products.
A re-release under the new name is also a decent idea, if you are ok with that older music being reflective of your new brand, and if you don't mind erasing your history like that.
