So I've been working my way through all the great training, and I switched from Mailchimp to Aweber, set up the Page Expiration Robot plugin, and revised my sales funnel. I was hoping I could get feedback on the squeeze page, each email, the timing of when the emails are sent, and the LTO page I have set up. My squeeze page is currently converting around 18%.

Thanks!
Paul

But please remember...
This offer is for fans only. It's not open to the general public and it will only be up for 72 hours and then the offer will come down for good. So if you want to get an extra, unreleased track then go here now:

But once more, that offer will be coming down within 72 hours. Once the countdown clock hits zero, the offer will be gone for good.

Talk soon,
Paul

Hey Paul,

Only had a minute but I did scan through everything.

Couple thoughts...

1. Squeeze page looks really good to me, BUT 18% (while not terrible), still needs to be improved. With that said, it depends on the traffic source. If that is coming from social media or something like that, it might be okay. if it was referred traffic it should be higher. The most obvious thing you could change is your headline. It's a bit hidden and it doesn't really drive home the "experience" that people will get. It just hits on the download itself. That is fine, but it's not what people REALLY want out of music. Notice on my page: http://johnomusic.net/facebook.html how the headline is very in your face and how it conjures up imagery that would be appealing to someone who was into the whole Americana thing. You might thing in those kind of terms.

2. Re: Delaying your message. When you click on "follow up messages" in aweber you will see all of our subject lines. To the left of them is the number of days apart each message is. You can just click that and change it to delay a message.

3. Email 1 and two seem to be redundant. I would just merge them.

4. Email 4 is where you are really trying to bond so I would lead with the "what's in it for them" a but more. So something more like. "Name, I made a video for you in which I show you how I make my beats. This is something you can do too. Check it out and see for yourself: link" or something like that which pulls them in a tad more. That's just my opinion.

5. I thought the LTO was spaced a tad close to the content. Maybe at least a day in between would be good.

6. I thought maybe one more content email might serve you well before the LTO, but I would test it as is first. That one is hard to say until you test.

7. I thought you were copying and pasting a little to much from my template. Only in the sense that I didn't feel that the language matched your personality completely. I think building your own voice and speaking like you would to your friends is important. There needs to be that "message to market" match.

I know that sounds like a lot. In reality I think you're pretty close. See any sales from the funnel as is?

Thanks for the great feedback. I'm going to crunch all that and try to come up with some improvements.

I am seeing sales from the funnel as is, but the conversion rate is nowhere near as high as I'd like

Re #2 - I have many lists in aweber - one for each free download offered on my website, for example. I have automation set up so that one someone joins one of these lists, they are automatically subscribed to my main list, but they get 2 emails automatically. I can't figure out a way to delay the second email (delay the automation)

I'm not 100% sure I follow. Are you saying you subscribe people to two lists at once? I can't really see a reason to do that. Instead I would create different lists for each funnel you want to create. When you send out blasts that you want to go to everyone you just tick the "include other lists" box so it's not a pain to have multiple lists.

no there's just one list that I send broadcasts to, but there are several lists for each free download I have.

For example my most popular download is my Ableton Live DJ Set:

http://www.paulloebmusic.com/2.....-template/

which has it's own Aweber Web Form and associated List - the first (0) followup message of which contains the download link

I'm not really sure what you mean. I'm thinking we are using different terminology for something. You can only have one welcome message for a list regardless of how many web forms you have. Why wouldn't you send broadcasts to all of your lists?

I only have one list that I send broadcasts to. But I want to offer many 'email in exchange for download' items on my website. Most of these are Ableton Live or Pro Tools sessions, or something production-related.

The best way I've found to automate this process is to create a list like 'pl-als' for each download which functions like this:
When the user fills out the web form on my site, they get a confirmation opt-in email asking them to click the link to confirm their subscription and get their free download. Then they get an instant email (followup 0 for 'pl-als') with the download link to their chosen file.

At this point, I have an automation rule set up as:

Subscribe to list paul-loeb-music when subscriber subscribes to pl-als

And when that happens, they instantly get followup 0 from my main 'paul-loeb-music' list ('Thanks For Your Support')

So in the end, the subscriber is on two email lists, the list that identifies which download they wanted, and my main email list (with the autoresponder sales funnel), and they get both 'followup 0' messages at the same time. I can't figure out how to delay the 2nd one.

Does this help? Sorry if it's even more confusing!

Gotchya, I didn't even know you could subscribe people to lists with automation. i only thought you could unsubscribe. I wouldn't personally set it up the way you have it just because it creates problems like the one you are having. You also might want to email certain offers to certain lists but not others. Such as people who have expressed interest in production vs music.

The way I set things up is to create many lists and each one has a tightly niched sales funnel. I create largely similar follow up series. Aweber has a function that allows you to tie your lists together so that when you create one follow up it will automatically populate in your author lists that you have linked, but I don't use it. I just manually copy and paste duplicate emails.

But I do create many many different web forms for each list so I can customize the opt in messages.

Hope that helps.

I'm still working on updates, but I changed the headline of my squeeze page and my conversion rate (subscriptions) has jumped from 18 to 30%.

Also, did you get a chance to look at the actual LTO page?

That's awesome man. I love hearing stuff like that. I just always think about what that would mean on Wall Street if a company's earnings jumped by 40%. And all it took was a change of a sentence 🙂

I missed the LTO before. Looks good, but I think it could use a headline to pull me in to what is cool about your offer. Again, think benefit and experience as well as the discount and limited time offer. But it's not bad as is, just a little subtle.
