If you don´t have a large list, I figure to get your stuff in front of the public, getting some reviews will help. So I´ve been sending albums (and DVDs) out for review. Now, some questions: 1) has anyone heard of an on-line music review web site called RootsWorld.com and if so, what is your opinion? Worth sending them an album? and 2) a more general question: how do you find out how much traffic a site (such as RootsWorld) is getting? And finally, what are some of the best places to send your world music (Afro-Peruvian, and flamenco) to if you want reviews that will be widely read?
Hi Eve,
I'm not familiar with the site but I think going after every opportunity is worthwhile so long as it's not cost prohibitive or overly expensive.
The most straight forward way to get an estimate of a website's traffic is through Alexa.com. Alexa won’t tell you the actual page views of a site but an estimate of the percentage of Internet users that may have visited your site during a given period. Now assuming that the number of Internet users did not changed drastically in the past 6 months or so, a site’s reach as determined by Alexa can be proportional to the unique visitors.
Hope that helps.
