Hey everyone,

***Please DO NOT share the page (yet!)***

The page is live so you guys can see it 🙂

I'm putting together my first promotion. It's going to run Monday October 15th - Thursday October 18th.

The promotion is for the classical CD I made.

I was hoping I could get some feedback on the sales page here: https://www.samrussell.co.uk/b.....ial-offer/

The buttons don't work yet - I'm adding in the order forms this week. On clicking the button, the user will be taken to a page with the order forms. After submitting the form, they are taken through a series of upsells.

There will be different upsells depending on which option the user goes for:

MP3 Upsell 1: the heavy metal album I have (£10 - full price)

CD Upsell 1: Signed photographic prints from the photoshoot (£25 for 4)

CD Upsell 2: Printed tab books of the music (this is for guitar players and I already have them printed): £30 for the two books.

I also have some recorded concert footage from when I performed this music. I could maybe stitch together a "Live DVD" as a digital upsell. Not sure.

I'll have an email sequence I run to my subscribers, and I'll also do some FB Ads to people on my page (which has been growing from the FB Ads).

It looks pretty good to me.

If i have any constructive criticism it would be that the content area is very wide on desktop. It's a bit fatiguing. Narrow sales pages are a standard with direct response marketing, hence the layout design of the MMM sales page template. But I' guessing this won't be an issue for mobile users.

Otherwise, I think it reads well. It's more copy than I usually use on a sales page, but I also see why you are doing what you are doing.

Long story short, despite my thoughts above, I think it looks good and I wouldn't hesitate to send it to my list, if I were in your shoes.

Having trouble with your marketing? Wish you could have an experienced direct-to-fan marketing expert look over your actual campaigns, music, or content and offer feedback? Or perhaps you’re just looking for a little one-on-one assistance so you can ask questions that pertain to your specific goals and get a second, more experienced, perspective? Gotcha - I hadn't considered that! I redid the sale page:

https://www.samrussell.co.uk/b.....ial-offer/

and the two upsell pages:

https://www.samrussell.co.uk/b.....ed-prints/

https://www.samrussell.co.uk/b.....tab-books/

(the price doesn't appear on the upsell pages, because it only appears after clicking through from the order form).

I saved them as templates, so I can bang out a funnel pretty quickly in the future now

Emails are written.

I was going to run a FB ad to my page to support the promotion, should I:

  • run a single ad across the 4 days, or
  • run a different ad each day? So that I can hi light different features of the promotion
    • Eg Day 1 might be a general discount
    • Day 2 might hi light free shipping on the CD
    • Day 3 Might hi light digital download discount
    • Day 4 might hi light 24 hours left
    • ???

thanks!

Looks much better to my eyes. It's still a bit wider than I usually go, but I think it;s a lot easier to read now.

I usually just run a single ad for the first half of the promo and then on the final two days I run a "time is running out" or "just a  few hours left" type of ad.

That's great, thanks John!

For future reference, what sort of content width do you recommend for the sales pages?

Hey Sam,

I don't have any specific rule in terms of width, but as a general rule, narrower performs better. From there it's just about balancing effectiveness with visual appeal. If I remember right, the MMM sales page is 770 wide.
