I just read this and I HAD to share it. It's just too funny.
This is what happens when people think it's possible to game social media to launch your music career.

I laughed my ass off. What a moron.
Man, this has been doing the rounds - it's all anyone is talking about the last few days!
he's really gone and shafted himself, I've seen a few venues posting that they never want to see him again.
I'm amazed this can happen... I'm wondering what this guy's goal is... I mean... he, or someone on his team, has put some serious work into faking things to the extent they have.
They could have put the money into FB / YouTube ads... or some guitar lessons lol
This is hilarious, and sad. It's so wrong, but I also completely feel for the guy. So many musicians do this stuff on a small scale. He just went to the extreme with it. I used to be a club promoter in LA and virtually everyone lied about their draw. But not this bad. Poor guy. Not sure how he is going to go on with things. Might have to do a podcast episode about this one.

Seems someone just beat you to the podcast John!
I found it well worth a listen - it gives what I consider to be a very measured view of what the man did as well as looking at it from a wider perspective of 'fake it 'till you make it' strategies in general.
Nope. I joined John on the podcast to chat about this the very next day. 😉
Oh sorry! I'd better have a listen then hadn't I?!
Of course. We're awesome.
I've listened. I am in awe.
Ha! Thanks Keith, and thanks for chiming in Eyvi. Glad you you enjoyed it Keith.
