As I shared in the threads HERE and HERE, I used crowdfunding to raise money for radio promotion, but others could (and should) do the same thing to raise money for PPC. Here are the updates:

  1. By the end of the effort, I raised $4,000. It was easy money. One of the things that made it painless for me was that I had already completed the album. That way, I didn't have the pressure to hurry the project, and I could offer every backer an immediate download link for the album. I will definitely do it this way again.
  2. I am in the second day of radio promotion, and early signs suggest this record is going to do well!! I'm at the top of the list for "most added" in my genre. I also got added to the Smooth Jazz Network today, which I've been told typically takes weeks of begging and pleading. So, that they put me on the first week is encouraging.

I'm trying to emotionally hold onto all of this loosely. I love my life the way it is. So, if all of this crashes and burns, I don't feel like I'll be horribly disappointed. But something amazing could happen!

Ohhh... if you want to get some free downloads from the new album, you could always stop by here: http://www.charleylanger.net/Laugh

Hi Charley,

Wow!  This is all really great insight and it's really awesome to hear how well it's going for you.

Keep us in the loop how the radio aspect plays out for you.

Break a  leg!
