Hello guys,
I hope you and your families are well during these weird times. During this lockdown period, I've done some several live broadcasts using OBS sending a stream to Youtube. It works pretty well.
I now would also like to use Zoom (especially for one on one video interaction, like guitar classes, etc...). However I can't really make it sound good on Zoom. It's not as good as on Youtube.
I was wondering if it was just me or if the platform is not an optimal tool to do that. Have any of you used Zoom to do online shows or to give guitar classes, etc.. ?
Thanks for your help and your input.
Eric John Kaiser
Hey Eric,
I have not personally played with Zoom for streaming concerts, nor am I really a tech head when it comes to audio. So unfortunately I can't be that much help with this one. But you might jump into this thread where a few members were discussing audio quality and streaming. Between the three of you, you might be able to get some clarity: https://www.mmmanifesto.com/in.....-streamers

You can use OBS as your webcam into Skype or Zoom or anything. There's a thing called OBS Virtualcam that allows you to use OBS's output as your webcam in any program. So you can just set your video and audio up (as well as any overlay (such as an ad for your squeeze page)) in OBS and then tell Zoom or Facebook Live or any platform your using to just take the feed from that and use it. So if you've been doing live streams and they sound good, use the same settings as your webcam.
Thanks a lot Eyvindur Karlsson 👍
