Which FB page is better to set up, off your main personal profile for the promotion of your band? Fan/Band/Group or other and why? Are there any advantages/disadvantages to any of them?

I don't want or need to maintain two different pages i.e. Fan/Group. I want to be able to interact with fans under my alias (without them knowing about my personal profile (I'll hide it) or real name). I can also open another personal profile (no friends or family attached) and use that to set up a page if it's a better idea than using my existing personal profile.

Thanks for your help! Smile

I'm using a band page personally, I think most musicians probably are. Groups are more for discussion I think, and fan is basically a personal page to connect with fans rather than friends. Band is the only one with certain features you really want for your page.

Great thanks! I just don't see a lot of people talking about this and just want to make sure.

Hi Rickey,

My apologies for the slow reply. I've been traveling for the last 4 days with minimal internet... You definitely want to use a band page, as Kevin Pointed out. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
