Hey guys,
So, I'm using a getresponse auto-responder, which I'd say I'm an advanced user of it's features. I also have a one-time offer that I'm using after someone confirms their email address.
Now suppose they buy my one-time offer and they land on my download page, how do I automate bouncing them to a customer list, so I can email them the download link as well, just in case something happens (browser crash, accidental navigation away, etc.)?
Getresponse has great automation rules, however the customer must click a link from within an email and land on a page with a small coded pixel on it, in order to be bounced to another list.
When someone buys the oto (after confirmation), they are not getting to that download page from within an email, instead they are geting there from paypal. Therefore, the list-bounce does not take place. Instead I have to manually add the buyer to the customer campaign (without double opt-in in place).
I'm lazy… this does not work for me (plus it's impractical if someone buys at 3 am while I'm sleeping and loses their download page.)
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
-Steve
Okay scratch that...
I just spoke with GR customer service and they set me straight. The only reason I was asking you guys is because they had given me conflicting info on this last time I spoke with them.
For all you GR users, it is as simple as having the tracking pixel on any page of your site, because it tracks the user several different ways. So it doesn't matter if they got there through email or otherwise, they just have to be a on one of your lists in some capacity and have clicked a link from within one of your messages at some point.
The confirmation link counts for this.
So my answer is to simply have the tracking pixel on the download page after the sale.
That's what I had originally though, but like I said, they had told me otherwise in the past.
