I've notice that most of my sales and fans are coming from foreign countries, many from non-English speaking countries. If that's going to be my primary market, how do I handle making content accessible for them? How do I know if enough of them speak English to understand what I'm talking about? Are there any translation plugins that are really worth anything?

Not sure about plugins but you can always create content with Google translate and if you're worried about it you could have someone transcribe it for a only a few dollars on a site like scriptlance.com. I would keep all language specific content in it's own folder on your site though for SEO reasons.
But before I'd rule out the US I would take a look at your stats and see where your traffic is coming from. There may be some reason that your traffic is coming from other sites which would effect results and give a potentially artificial bias to foreign sales. Just a thought.

I've seen the addresses of my CD buyers and the fans that came from my FB campaign, and only about 10% are from the US. Of course, that was targeting ("sounds like") new age artists like Enya, Vangelis and Carre, but so far they're the only ones I've found in the secular market that sound anything like my stuff, or at least their fans might be more attracted to my stuff. The trouble is, I haven't had a lot of exposure to secular music, so I'm definitely open to suggestions; if anyone has the time to listen to the music on my site, they might have some ideas of other genres that might be open to my music. Part of my problem is I'm trying to create a niche where none exists yet (except in my own community, and even there it's quite unique).

Hey Reb, as a general rule I think it's pretty risky to try and create niche where there isn't one. It's like swimming up stream. If there is an audience in your niche in another country then I would start buy focusing there, but sticking with English, assuming there is a reasonable English speaking community there. Most ad platforms allow you to advertise to English speaking people in foreign countries. Or you can just continue creating content for the whole world understanding that you will be missing out on some people who don't speak English. I say that only because it's easiest. You could always get someone to translate your content and create a separate sales funnel in any language.
