I know we're all emotional creatures. I happen to be up right now, and so I'm taking advantage of the moment to hopefully prod anyone along who might not be feeling "up" right now.

This forum rocks! Really. I've been learning from your questions, answers, and experiences. I know there's no way to learn the details of anything practical other than by doing, which usually involves banging your head a few times. And some of you have been banging your head harder than others. My wife knows I've got plenty of band-aids on my head. Laugh

The potential of this group and the things we're learning is pretty amazing. And I really dig how we kinda have our little niches. Some of you are really good at SEO and understand stuff that makes me feel like a moron. Some of you are kicking butt with article marketing. That just wasn't clicking for me. But videos clicked -- nicely and predictably. My hurdle has been trying to figure out a practical way to scale that up; however, I think I have another piece of the puzzle falling into place now. Wink

I just appreciate all of you. This sounds like a sappy Hallmark card and I haven't even had a beer. I kinda hope, though, that someone will take a moment to say something nice when I'm having a lousy day. Yeah, Jap Jap, I'm probably motivated by your FB thread. I really wanna go slap someone for you right now. Geeeezzzzz...

Laters!

That's awesome Charley,

Thanks for leaving this thread. Made my day 🙂

For what it's worth, I really appreciate all you folks as well. MMIC just re-opened to the public so hopefully we'll see some new faces in here as well.

Cheers.

Hmmmm, maybe we oughta start planning a 1st year celebration somewhere? it would probably not really be feasable because of the distances involved, but wouldn't it be cool if we could all somehow get together someplace in person. Of course, we would probably have to hire a band.........

You are right Charlie, this forum rocks! I feel that most of you are way ahead of me on most of this internet marketing stuff, but I am s l o w l y putting what I am learning into practice. I really appreciate being able to ask some pretty basic questions, and getting very sincere and helpful answers in return. I just wish that some of our other members would post a bit more....ask some questions that maybe I could answer!

Uhhhh, that just gave me a thought. I asked John soooo many questions when I first started MMM 2.0. Embarassed Every one got answered, but I was afraid I was wearing him out! So that's why you started this forum, eh John?!Wink

What would a jam session with Gordon Lightfoot, Collective Soul, and Damien Rice sound like?

Check out Greg Parke and you’ll have a pretty good idea!

Thanks Charley,

After what has been a really tough week for me, I'm feeling a lot better after reading this.  I think you just summed up this forum in one post.

Thanks man!  Laugh

That sounds awesome. At some point down the line I'll throw that out there and see who is interested. Maybe a conference of sorts. But of course it would mostly be about drinking 🙂

Vegas anyone?

Nah, I still reply to every forum post 🙂

I just though the community would be awesome, and necessary. Frankly I though the JV forum would be the real benefit, but so far it's a ghost town. At some point before long I'll thin out the forum and replace unused forums with new topics to see if that kick starts any new discussions.

Hey Vegas sounds good! Count me in!! And uh.....what is the JV forum?  (Be kind, I've already had a few cocktails after getting home from a gig that was totaly f**ked up by an obnoxious heckler while security was off somewhere showing off their fancy uniforms to girls that were still here after last nights show) YellYellConfused

I did this not too long ago in Napa, and it was a total blast. I met some folks from a music forum that I had been colaborating with for a few years. We got a private tour of a Schlumberger winery. It was a kick.

That said, I'm not a big Vegas fan. I play in casinos, and they're not my favorite place to hang. But, if that's where everyone decides, I'll try to put my preferences aside for the sake of meeting you all. I'd like to bring my wife too.

John, you're in LA, I think? San Diego would be cool. Or you can come up my way to Napa! Maybe Tahoe? If you decide Vegas, I'll do my best. It's just not my first pick. Cool

Maybe I should go post in there. JVs are something I definitely want to do. It's just that most of ya'll are rockers, and I don't do that. I saw some other saxophonist post a comment on one of your blogs. Tell him to get in here! LOL!

Hey Charley, great post! 🙂
I must say everyone has been very supportive in here.
I'm feeling much better and continue my efforst with an important lesson learned.
Gotten another 2 sales this weekend, it's really great to see results.
Thanks for wanting to slap someone for me, maybe the heckler? 😉

Cheers, Jasper

OK...I've recovered from my "self medicated" state after yesterdays gig, and now I remember what the JV forum is. Sorry John!

It may be a ghost town right now, but I wouldn't give up on it yet. I am assuming that a lot of us in this forum are still pretty new at this internet marketing, and we don't have our email list built up enough yet to feel comfortable jumping into a joint venture. I know I fit that category. Maybe give it a few more months and see what happens as us "newbies" progress.

I know I sort of offered a joint venture idea with the Stageit thing, but I know that will take some time to put together, and hopefully my list will have grown quite a bit by then. I'm working on it, and seeing some good results!

I'm game for whatever. Vegas makes it easy to socialize comfortably and it's cheap travel and accommodations, but maybe I'll just do a quick survey and do this democratically. Give me a month or two to find a good time and I'll throw it out there. It sounds like a lot of fun. I just hung out with Tim Smisek (a Fellow Insider Circle Member) here in Paris the other night. It was great to get to meet the first of you in person. I think it's really rare to have so many business minded musicians in one place. It's really refreshing.

That's really awesome Jasper. You're doing well. Your email campaign must be on target. Not everyone gets it right that quickly. Have you profited yet on your FB ad campaign?

Yes I have John. I got about 4 sales this week from the new subscribers after the first 2 follow-up emails, where I only introduce myself and give away a few more tracks. Those 4 new subscribers all bought my entire back-catalog pack offer for €20/order and I invested only $50 in the Facebook add. Quite a few others posted comments on my Facebook wall, mostly referencing my new album (that's coming out this October). I think most people who bought my back-catalog will also purchase my new album, so it's an investment for my future releases too.

That's awesome, Jasper.

It's interesting what you said about the "investment in your future albums".

That's the power of list-building.  Especially when they're as targeted as yours seems to be.  Great job!

Fan-fuckin-tastic! You have done what some people spend years trying to learn to do with products in white hot markets and with much bigger profit margins. Very impressive. Well done.

hey folks,

Just wanted to throw my voice in here. I've learned more in the last couple of months of MMMIC membership that... well ever! Without a doubt one of the very best investments Ive made for my music!

Please keep the JV section. I'm really excited to get to the point where I have something to offer there, but I'm not quite there yet. Though I do have a couple of ideas churning. When I get back from SF I'll post one I'm excited about that could work across genres.

Also I would be totally down with a meet up! The closer to the west coast the better for me.

Last but not least, Jasper I'm so glad to hear you've picked up and rebounded from that weirdness. Kudos to you!

More later my phone tapping finger is getting tired

Good call on the recovery from "weirdness", Daniel!

I think that's really the take away... you can't learn determination from any forum.

Jasper certainly has it.

I agree wholeheartedly that you all ROCK! I am one who's just barely got the first brick in place as far as building anything of substance on the internet, so I am learning so-o-o much every time I visit the Forum. And believe me, it's been awhile since I saw THIRTY!

Thanks and kudos to all of you.

Hey, Clinton! Welcome to the forum. This is a great place for learning and encouragement. Heaven knows -- I need both. When you feel comfortable, I'd like to see that "first brick" in place. Smile Really, I'm probably only a little more than six months ahead of you.

And, as far as seeing thirty...well...thirty and I said goodbye quite a long time ago. The cool thing about taking control of your music business the way we are learning to do here is that age doesn't matter. For all you know, I'm pushing 80 and my avatar is just some random guy. LOL! Nah...that really is me. Cool
