Hi John,

Thanks so much for going over my blog post at the end, I really appreciate it. I really love the format of the live lessons. I'm learning a lot. I will definitely get my questions in earlier next time.

I don't want to take up time on the next live lesson, by reposting my blog post so I am posting it here. Is it meeting the objective?

A couple of questions:

1. Should I use a different picture? Judging by your reaction I'm wondering if either the picture or title is giving off the wrong vibe. I chose it because the story is mostly about my mom and this was the only picture I had with her.

2. The word count is 1050. Any advice on what I should shoot for on length?

3. Targeting: Thanks for the feedback on the USP, I will give that another think and revise. I am still targeting funk, but I hesitate to target Herbie Hancock fans, because Herbie is more known for jazz. I'm worried Herbie fans will be disappointed if they click and don't here some jazz. I was using Herbie as some social proof, perhaps I should take off his reference so I don't confuse anyone? Thoughts?

Thanks,

Derrick

My pleasure Derrick. Glad you are enjoying the course.

No, I like the picture. I see what you're saying now though. I saw the image of (who I assumed was ) you sitting down with the cups in front of you and because of the title I thought you were in a hospital bed for some reason. I can see now that is not the case. I wouldn't worry about it. It's a good pic.

2. The word count is 1050. Any advice on what I should shoot for on length?

Really? Wow, it looked much longer. No, 1000 words is ok. Perhaps just inserting a little more drama in the beginning would pull me in and make me want to keep reading. I'll cover this more later, but consider the "start in the middle, then go to the beginning, and finish with the transformation" approach that I mentioned in the call.

I wouldn't remove it. I would just try a test campaign for just a few bucks per day and see how the Herbie Hancock one does. But you have a good point and you might be wrong that it's the wrong audience. I made some other targeting suggestions in your other post about this.

Thanks for being part of the workshop. Next weeks lessons should help.
