Hey guys,
I just recorded a possible video for my new squeeze page, but I am afraid it might actually hurt the sales process as opposed to helping it. Would love your opinion. It would be on this squeeze page: http://www.amy-wilkins.com/Kat/ (please don't share this link as it won't go live until the end of the month and when it does, it will go live at http://KatParsonsMusic.com)
here's the link for the video (also private!): http://youtu.be/vc9ThfTrIvU
Thank you so much for your opinion, if you have time!!
Kat
Hey Kat,
I've seen videos totally help and totally hurt. I think there is a good chance this could help. The worst thing about it is the audio. I've seen it before with your videos where there is this loud hum on the recording. With that said, it's not unheard of that things that are less slick actually do better. I would just run some traffic at it and see how it converts and then do the same without it and see how that converts. I usually spend some money on PPC just to test a squeeze page before I start sending my traffic to it. You never know how things will convert until you try. It's very hard to predict how people will behave. But I like where you're thinking is with this.
Another thing to consider is a similar thank you page video. You can thank people for signing up, tell them how to get their free music, and then either pitch our album or offer another free track in exchange for a like (with the download revealer) or something like that. I think the thank you page is a great place to start the personal connection and let your new susbcriber know you're a real person.

ok, awesome- thanks so much for this john. i actually made a thank you page video w/ VMP and a house concert page video as well. so maybe i'll use those. i don't know why these hum because i did them on my regular camera vs. my computer....except that i was in the corner of the kitchen and it may be the refrigerator. 🙂
Hmm, yeah, I'm not sure about the hum. I know on some older cameras the machine itself can hum and that can get recorded. I'd try unplugging the fridge and see if that goes away. If not you know it's the camera. Could be some kind of weird interference or something. I'm not a tech guy by any means when it comes to this stuff.
