Hi,
Here is a link to three of my band's songs. My plan is to offer 'Bucket Of Bites' as the free track on the squeeze page, then a week or so after signup I'll send a download link for 'All About Me'. Then a couple weeks later I'll drop 'Monster Love'. We'll then build on this down the road by giving away some exclusive mailing list only recordings and merch. The goal being building the list and enticing people along until we've got our record done and ready to sell in the fall.
I'd love to know what you guys think regarding which is the strongest tune for the initial offer.

(fyi, these are early mixes of these songs. We'll have the mastered versions back this week, at which point I'll be taking these versions down and replacing them with list signup box. Since I'm not trying to invoke the scarcity effect here, if anybody reads this after I've taken them down and really wants to hear them, just PM me and I'll send you links. )
Thanks and good luck!
Hey Daniel,
Admittedly I only had a sec to check out the tunes, but I did think "Bucket of Bites" grabbed me the quickest of the three so I think that's a good choice for the first track. I could go either way with the other two. Both had different, but equally good, qualities in my opinion.
The only thing you might think about is also adding other types of content to the autoresponder series. Blog posts, videos, relationship building stuff so they get to know you guys as well as the music. You might also consider sending out the first 2 or 3 emails in closer proximity. I typically send out an email every few days in the beginning and then pull back. It depends on the project and if I'm doing a launch or just a progressive campaign, but when folks sign up their curiosity is peaked. You don't want to let them go cold right out of the gate. It's okay to back off later once they are locked in.
You'll always get the "t0o many emails" complaint. That's just part of this. But the stats show that frequency is important. I know many successful email marketers who send out an email every single day.
Just my two cents.
Having trouble with your marketing? Wish you could have an experienced direct-to-fan marketing expert look over your actual campaigns, music, or content and offer feedback? Wow guys! Monster Love and All About Me really remind me of a modern version of a band called The Kinks. I like it! If most of your stuff is like that, I might push Monster Love over Bucket of Bites, but go with your gut feeling
What would a jam session with Gordon Lightfoot, Collective Soul, and Damien Rice sound like?
Check out Greg Parke and you’ll have a pretty good idea!
