Hi,
my name is Alessandro Olivieri a bass player from Italy. Sorry for posting a new topic that could go directly in the one "Want to be paied for an in...", but I'd like to have a feedback just about a slight different shade concerning stageit.
First of all, I'd like to thanks everybody and particularly John for all the interesting and exciting topics, trics, hints...and so on. The problem is that I'm so green in this field and with a little time too, that, often I feel overwhelmed by the huge work to do in office and less time to study...because you know...we need also to study!
Ok, now about stageit, I watched some really nice and well done shows, and I think it's a great platform, not only to get money but especially to get fans and keep in touch with far friends.
I wrote a suggestion in a mail to the crew of stageit, in wich I explained the desire to give for free notes to friends and potential fans in order not to burden on anyone, especially people that don't understand the way the platform works.
Instead of giving for free a track, that is useful, but something that has become usual, why don't give for free one single note going out from the autoresponder from time to time...to get a new follower, to keep in touch with a friend we don't see from a lot of time, to donate as a gift for christmas to our fans in a beautiful newsletter?
I think this could be quite exciting for fans who want to watch a show by their favourite musicians...in real time! ...and in front of some fried potatoes and a 42 inches plasma TV with an open chat line!
We would spend 10 cents each, and would be something ...maybe... new.
At list this is my opinion.
Sorry for this abrupt incursion in the forum but, from stageit...nothing...not a word!
Maybe this is a stupid idea, but if you think it's not, (and I'm talking also to all people that read, but not write like me until now, from this forum), why don't you write something similar to stageit? They might do something that could work in that sense!
This is as you say my two cents, ...hope it's useful! Thanks
Ale
If I read this right, you are talking about being able to give away a "free ticket" to stage-it show? That's not a bad idea!
I know that the musician sets the price for his show, so maybe you could set your price at free, and then just send out an invitation to only those that you want to give a free show. Other people would probably find your free show too, but it might generate a few new fans, who might be inclined to actually pay for your next show.
I haven't actually done a stageit show yet, but I plan to soon. I have a new CD that is getting close to being finished, and stageit is definitely going to be part of my promotion strategy
What would a jam session with Gordon Lightfoot, Collective Soul, and Damien Rice sound like?
Check out Greg Parke and you’ll have a pretty good idea!
Hi Alessandro,
Definitely no need to apologize for starting a new thread. You're doing it right. Every new question should really be a new thread. That way it makes it easier for people to find the advice they need when searching the forum.
My guess is that they won't go for it simply because people could use it for other artists and this could get confusing in terms of income distribution. Still, it's a good idea.
That's too bad that you didn't hear back. I honestly see this a LOT with these marketing solutions that are made just for musicians. The support is so terrible so much of the time. I just emailed a company that offered mobile marketing solutions and said I not only wanted to use them but that I might also be willing to share their service with my 10,000 subscribers. Not a peep. I called their number, it didn't work. But their order button sure did. Disappointing.
That's why I mostly stick with main stream marketing services. The support is usually much better.
There are some tips in the December training module that might come in handy for internet concerts. It should be live by tomorrow.
