Hi All,

I have created a very cool and unusual music download card. I sold it last year for $2O per card and made about $4,000.

I had an inspiration to sell the cards again but for $10 per card and go for volume and ease. To my surprise I'm selling $100 in cards per day. I began with the cards again as a strategy for fund raising and creating buzz for upcoming concerts. The result of getting out there in my community has been joy and satisfaction, but also incredible opportunities including meeting someone who booked me for a large concert where I will probably make at least $2,000.

The song is very warm and fuzzy, down home, a bit country, "real feel good". I'm thinking if I can do some mini-concerts and sing just this 1 song then sell the card at cool cafes, diners, ie the right vibe, I can increase the # of cards I sell. I've also placed an ad to have sales people sell the cards.

My objective is to:

1.Create a $4,300 minimum income stream per month from this.

2. Build buzz and my email list for my upcoming album.

3. Direct market to card buyers and sell concert tickets within a 2 month period of their card purchase.

My Question: (I've heard that it is wise to market an "event". My event is fundraising for my album via the card sales and concert ticket sales.) What more can I do to really make this idea profitable?

Thanks & Hugs! Elizabeth

P.S. You can see the card and hear the song-"Good Morning to the Morning" in the store at elizabethmcdonaldmusic.com

My best advice just goes back to the basics. Build your list, interact with that list, and then make a time sensitive offer. Maybe 50% off on the usual $20, giving you the number you're after. Then follow up with that list about live shows and house concerts.

Same goes for offline... Perform an network as much as possible, pushing both the download cards and the mailing list while you do it, and stick with the same scarcity offer. Telling a room full of people that the cards sell for $20 online (assume it's true) but that you will give everyone in the room 50% off will be just as effective as saying it in an email.

Best of luck and congrats on the success so far.

Hi Eliabeth, and welcome to the Insiders Circle!

I checked out your website.....nice songs, and very interesting story too! I'm curious about the cards you are talking about. Are they a download card, a prepaid concert ticket, or???? That's pretty cool that you are selling  as many as you are.

What would a jam session with Gordon Lightfoot, Collective Soul, and Damien Rice sound like?

Check out Greg Parke and you’ll have a pretty good idea!

Hey Elisabeth, would love to know about the d-load card you are talking about as well. I have been buying the cdbaby ones when they discount them usually 100 at time for  $40 and selling them for $10.  How are they selling for $20?  Thanks for the info. in advance.
