Hi John,
I've had some brainwaves about my text copy recently, and I'm doing some more dynamic creative rounds with that. I actually have 10 different texts I want to try, so I wanted to ask whether the following approach is unadvisable ? I thought about creating 2 identical ad sets, within 1 campaign- the only thing being different is that in on them I try out 5 text options, and in the other I try out the other 5 text options. Within dynamic creative, you only seem to be able to try 5, so I wondered if it's a bad idea to try out 10 in this way? My thinking is that with campaign optimisation on, this would be a way of getting to the best out of 10, (instead of the 5 that facebook seems to encourage.)
The other thing I could do is simply go on my gut to wittle down my list of 10 to what I think the best 5 are.
Do you have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Karen
Hey Karen,
The more variables you test the less reliable the data becomes if using dynamic creative. DC isn't a true split test because it quickly shifts your ad spend to the better performers. It's also more random then a split test because it tries many combinations. But it's quick.
So I would personally use your gut and try the first 5. If you're not happy with the numbers you can test the next round. If you are, then you can save them for down the line once your winning ad starts to dip.
