I was wondering if anyone has tested the aweber option that lets facebook automatically fill in the sign up form. I like that it makes it easier to sign up but not sure if the wording on the sign up form is a turn off or not. It says "register' on the button and then what I think is the number of your friends who have signed up next to the button - which for most people will be "0".
It also says this:
Privacy Policy · Clicking Register will also give Email Updates Registration access to your Facebook friends list and other public information. Nothing will be shared with Email Updates Registration until you click Register. Learn more
- which doesn't mean we have access to their friends. But people might think it does.
I might try a split test once I'm ready to put my squeeze page up.
I was wondering if anyone has tried it or what you think of it.
Thanks,
Annie
Annie,
I responded to an AWeber survey where they asked what I thought they could do to improve things.
I replied noting how slick Reverbnation had gotten with the "one click" sign up to join an RN mailing
list and noted that if they could implement something like that, it would be helpful. I looked at this
and I'm not sure that's what this is, but just trying to comprehend how it works was enough to
keep me from investigating further, so I'd be interested in what you find out.
And yeah, that warning about having access to their friends confused me too. Why even mention
it? I wouldn't want access to their friends anyway. I want their email if they want to get on my list
with one click.
I haven't personally messed with it yet. I tend to wait a while with things like this. My personal feeling is that people will still be afraid to do that because they won't be sure what info they will be giving up or what they will be giving access to. But I don't know... Definitely worth a split test. It does seem to be worth playing with.
One of these days I'll see about running a ton of paid traffic to something with all kinds of little split tests, just to get some definitive results on this stuff.
