Hello,
I hope you guys are doing well. I'm a French singer songwriter based in Portland, Oregon. I distribute my music through CD Baby and use http://www.radioairplay.com/ (which is a radio streaming company linked to CD Baby and Disc Makers). You choose the songs you want to share and they insert them in different artist themed radio stations that kind of sound like what you do. I get 10 free credits a week and at this point only use those.
In itself I like the tool. I'm able to associate my songs with certain French artists I kinda sound like. It enables good targeting and I make a few fans that are interested in the style of music I do. You also get stats and other feedback. However it's kind of hard to connect with those fans and have them transfer to my mailing list. At least with the free version. Maybe you get more fan data when you pay for the service ?
Also after chatting with their customer service online, I realized that that company Radio Airplay/Jango does not pay any streaming royalties to Sound Exchange. Which doesn't seem right, especially coming from a company like CD Baby that supposedly helps indie artists. So I'm a bit skeptical about investing a little money with them....
I was wondering if any of you out there use that service and pay to get rotations and get results ?
Thanks a lot for your help and feedback,

Hey Eric,
I personally don't use services like that at all. Not sure what my past labels might do on my behalf, but I don't think there is that much value there compared to other hings we could be doing. Maybe one day I'll have a different opinion.
You do bring up a good point. Any streaming service could act as a potentially great tool for coming up with other targeting options for our ads, by making note of the similar artists they recommend. I never thought of that. Good stuff.
