Has anyone else experienced this with Ezine? If I am not able to publish on Ezine, is there an alternative that anyone would recommend? Does Ezine perform much better than a blog post? Thanks!
Hello John Dissed,
Thank you for your submission to EzineArticles.com titled "Why Music and Politics Are A Perfect Blend" (8045497).

Yes, I experienced this last year. I wrote an article on the pitfalls that you don't think about before owning/operating a cargo trailer.
Their problem was that my link did not link to further information about the subject I was writing.
I clearly stated in the author box that I had gained my insight into trailer ownership from being a traveling musician that owned/operated a trailer and that you could go to the link to find out more about me (and my music).
Apparently, they were of the opinion that if you were writing about trailers, your link should lead to where you were selling trailers...
So, I decided since I have at least an article a week in me, and they clearly did not need my quality content. So I started my own blog and did ok attracting traffic to my site. So, I'm of the opinion to generate unique content for myself.
Thanks Tim. I guess that's why the example in the training is about similar artists. Maybe I will start a politics and music blog or something. I appreciate your response. I was beginning to suspect they were censoring. Makes sense now.
Yes, and in fact, with respect to the "similar artist" strategy, I had one blog post in which I detailed 6 artists/bands (entitled "Darkwave Bands" so I could link back to that keyword) that had influenced my sound. Then, I was going back to write one unique article dedicated to each artist. Each article would be linked to this original post in order to form a "pyramid" which supposedly scores higher in the search engines.
So, you can not only create your own unique content, but also combine this with other strategies (site structure) in order to gain "authority" status in the search engines.
That is fascinating, I will keep that in mind. Thanks Tim.
Hey John, once again, sorry for the slow response. Been slammed all week as I finish up MMM 3.0.
I have found ezine articles to be really inconsistent. It all depends on the moderator. They are absolutely approving articles going to squeeze pages. Just a few clicks around will show you that. Not really sure why they disapproved this one. It may just be as Tim mentioned. Although it may have been a combo of your call to action mixed with the relevance of the squeeze page. Because it';s very common to see standard author bios that just go to someone's site, which has nothing to do with the content.
What was your call to action, what was the article title, and can I get the link to your squeeze page again?
Don't let articles being disapproved put you off. You just course correct and move on. I can't seem to write 5 article sin a row without at least one getting disapproved. I just make changes and repost.
