Hi!

I recently tried to create a Facebook ad after a short break. The previous ads had worked just fine, and I basically just copied an old ad. But lo and behold, the ad was rejected. Here's what they said: "Your ad wasn't approved because it links to a proprietary file type (.pdf, .doc, etc.), initiates automatic downloads, or "traps" a user's browser in some way (pop-ups, etc.)."

Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

Hey Elmo,

I've never had that happen at all. Can you post the link to whatever you are linking to in the doc?

Having trouble with your marketing? Wish you could have an experienced direct-to-fan marketing expert look over your actual campaigns, music, or content and offer feedback? Or perhaps you’re just looking for a little one-on-one assistance so you can ask questions that pertain to your specific goals and get a second, more experienced, perspective? Sorry, I meant "ad", not doc.

Hey Elmo,

It sounds like it could be an error. They mention a file type, but you are just linking to an html page which wouldn't be an issue. You might just try it again and see if you get the same results. If you do, I would email them via the left side bar of your ad manager and ask them to clarify.

It's also possible they are having an issue with the pop up and may require you to turn it off for their ads. FB mods can be very inconsistent.

Ok. I'll see what happens.

Thanks.
