Hey again John,

All my live facebook ads were randomly rejected last week, and I have a message up in the ads saying 'this page isn't allowed to advertise' (see screenshot.)

I've been poking around facebook a lot to try and find a way of getting help with this, as I didn't want to pester you about it, but if I'm not mistaken, there is no facebook support at the moment (?!) - at least I can't find any way of emailing for direct support. I've 'reported a problem' twice about this, but not sure that really does anything.

The emails I got from facebook telling me the ads had been rejected said I could request a review in 'account quality' but whenever I go to that page it doesn't load up properly.

I also tried to just start up new ads today from scratch, but it's still telling me I'm not allowed to advertise from my page.

Have you had this experience before? Any thoughts about what action I can take? It's a shame as one of the ads looked like it was starting to drop in price nicely...

Thanks,

Karen

Hi Karen,

No, I have not personally experienced that, but I've heard from half a dozen students over the last month who have had accounts banned by mistake, only to contact support and have them reactivated. It was some sort of a bug.

You can still contact support, just go into your ads manager, and scroll down to the bottom of the left hand side column to the little question mark icon. Click that and a column opens up on the right hand side. Click on "contact support".

Let me know how you make out.

Having trouble with your marketing? Wish you could have an experienced direct-to-fan marketing expert look over your actual campaigns, music, or content and offer feedback? Or perhaps you’re just looking for a little one-on-one assistance so you can ask questions that pertain to your specific goals and get a second, more experienced, perspective? Thanks for your response. When I click the question mark, and click on 'contact support' it gives me the option to start a chat with support. When I put my details in and attempt the chat, it says 'chat not available at the moment' or, today, it said 'we're having technical difficulties....' (see screen shot). It's been nearly a week now.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts... was so keen to really get moving with ads :/

Karen

That's very strange about the technical difficulties. When my account was banned I was able to jump right into chat. Maybe try a different browser? I've had google chrome glitch out and show me messages like that, when it works fine in other browsers.

Have you by any chance been using Hypeddit smart links for Spotify? My ad account got banned a few months ago, reinstated by support, and from talking to a few others who had the same problem, all of us were banned the same month we first started using those, and haven't been banned since. Since they link to Hypeddit.com, rather than our own sites, Facebook sometimes thinks we're promoting a scam, because apparently Hypeddit.com also "sells" fake Facebook likes, which is against their terms of service.

So, if you have been, you might consider not using those anymore once you get your account reinstated, which I'm sure you will.

Good suggestion Kevin.

The technical difficulties thing is weird. I would also recommend trying on a different browser. This sounds like a bug more than anything. I'm not currently experiencing any issues so I can't really offer much in the way of trouble shooting this.

Thank you Kevin and John.

Thanks Kevin for your thoughts re: spotify. I have recently put tracks up on spotify, through Emubands, but I haven't linked it to my page, so I don't think that's it. But good to be aware of that, thanks Kevin.

I actually got through to fb ads support today (miracle!) and the support woman sent me a link for how to appeal the apparent decision that my page is violating the fb ads policy, which I did. So I hope they can just quickly re-instate my account when that goes through.

Fingers crossed....! I don't want to have to stop selling class A drugs from my page - it's part of my rock and roll image!

Sorry joking apart, thanks for your thoughts, and hope you are surviving these weird times.

Karen
