OK The last of my follow up messages. Please let me know if there's anything I should tweak, Thanks

Follow up #5

Subject: Is that my real hair?

How's it goin! Hope all is right as rain, fine as frog hair,
your days are short and your nights are long!

When I was about 38 I noticed I was getting some grey around
my temples. I thought "I'm a little young for that but it's
cool, kind of makes me look distinguished" right?

Well that lasted about a week when I woke up one morning and
all my hair looked like I had seen the proverbial ghost!
I'm not kidding. It took less than a month for my hair to turn
completely grey. (more like white)

I know, I have a lot of friends who say "well at least you
still got hair." Still, this sudden change was a bit of a
shock to me. I mean my whole life I had dark brown hair.
I was only 38! Cut down in the prime of my life LOL

I was just recently divorced, from my second wife, more on
that later, and living alone. So I went to a local bar to
have a few beers and watch some football. I was sitting
there and looking around I noticed all that was in the place
were men. Men with grey hair. I thought to myself "Man there
ain't nothin' but a bunch of old dudes hangin' out in here."
That's when I looked in the mirror behind the bar and said
"Oh Shit! I'm one of 'em!"

So I was telling this story to my drummer and his wife said
"Go get some of that Just For Men hair color and I'll put it
in for you." I said "No way, I ain't doin that" but when I was
at the store later that day I thought "Ya know, she does work
at a salon, she's knows what she's doin."

So I got a box and took it home and put it on the shelf.
Carol kept coming by and saying "Come on Dave, just try it I
promise you it'll be fine." One day I said OK and she put it
on. I looked in the mirror and Freaked Out! Oh my God! It
looked like someone took a brown crayon and drew hair on my
head! Carol tried to console me and reassure it looked fine.
That's when her husband came through the front door.
Carol quickly yells out "Tell him it looks fine Tommy!"
But it was too late, I could see it in Tommy's eyes, it was
cartoon hair from hell.
I barely left my apartment for like the next 6 weeks.
And when I did it was with a full stocking hat pulled way down.

So my hair is white and I'm proud of it. Actually it fits me,
just like my follicely challenged friends, they're bald but
hey, it works for them. They look better now than ever.

Now when people ask me if my hair is really white, I just tell them
"Only my hairdresser knows for sure."

Hi Dave,

This is great! You are really developing an "email personality". It is a little long, but I wanted to keep reading. You could probably cut this paragraph to just help the story flow a little better and make it a bit shorter:

I know, I have a lot of friends who say "well at least you

still got hair." Still, this sudden change was a bit of a

shock to me. I mean my whole life I had dark brown hair.
I was only 38! Cut down in the prime of my life LOL

I agree with Annie.

Make this: " It took less than a month for my hair to turn completely grey. (more like white)"

Say this: " It took less than a month for my hair to turn completely white!"

Then you could optionally add this: "I was only 38! Cut down in the prime of my life LOL"
to the end of that paragraph and get rid of the one Annie mentioned.

Thanks Tim and Annie, even when I wrote that it seemed like a stumbling point, I think I will just remove that paragraph completely Cool thanks again

Hey Dave,

For the record, I think it's really great that you are posting these messages here for everyone.  Your writing style is awesome.  Very entertaining.  It comes out of left field and totally ties back into your music.  Great stuff!

Really great Dave.

Something you could add that I have seen work really well is something like:

Is that my real hair? [Picture Inside]

...or some variation on that and then actually include an image in the email.

Pictures and videos get great open rates. Everyone is curious. Especially with a subject like yours.

Good stuff...
