Hi folks,

I stumbled over this video that describes how Google apparently is stealing keyword data from regular users.

As far as I can tall its only a matter of time before we are all in the dark. Please, if anyone with more insight than me knows something about this, it would be great to know. Here is the link for the video. I know that this a "market samurai" sales video, but

the facts seem pretty wild I think?

Hi Christian,

I saw this as well. To some extent I would just file this away as a sales video meant to alarm you. That said, I have been pretty vocal over the last year or so about how I think Google is really doing some questionable things. It seems that right about the time  the coined the phrase, "don't be evil" they started taking some steps in that direction. It's pretty clear to me that they have no interest in being the world's information gateway but are really just yet another company trying to sell advertising. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

That said, I don't think the sky is falling either. There are plenty of other stats solutions out there and I have always suggested people use alternatives to Google products. And if the situation gets bad enough, a new solution will present itself because if the people want it they will get it.

Anyway, it's good to be aware of and to be thinking about. But for now it's just business as usual and we keep on fighting the always uphill battle.

Thanks for the share.
