I just looked through my subscribers on Aweber for the past seven days and of the 30 signups, 11 still show "confirmation pending". That is almost 50% that are not clicking the confirmation link in the email and obviously not getting the free track or my follow up messages. Here is the link to the page they are directed to after entering their Name and Email on the squeeze page.

Is there anything wrong with the copy on this page that could be changed and help with the click though rate? Most of this is all free Twitter tracffic but, I would like to get this converstion rate higher before doing PPC if at all possible. Thanks in advance for any help.
Darrell
Hey Darrell,
The copy looks fine to me. Have you edited the default confirmation email that goes out from Aweber? That can be a big factor. You need to get that word "subscription" out of there.
I have seen bigger ratios of non-confirms with social media, but that percentage is way to high. Sounds like there is a kink in the chain somewhere.

John,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did change the default confirmation email, but forgot to include that in my first post. I'm pasting it below. Thanks again.

Nothing looks problematic with your email copy. Do you have a link to the thank you page they are taken to after signing up? The initial thank you page, not the confirmation page (after confirming).

John,
Yes, it's the one in my original post.

That is where they are sent after submitting their info on the squeeze page. Then, after they get the confirmation email and click the confirmation link, they are taken to:
Sorry about that. I spaced. I remember seeing it now. Looks fine.
These are the only things that come to mind as potential causes.
1. Because the traffic source is social media based, the interest might be soft. And when the visitors are confronted with the confirmation link, they rethink things and decide to pass.
2. There could be some kind of a deliverability issue with your email address. I doubt this is the case. But if you are using a free email, or that email address has been marked as spam a lot in the past (due to different marketing tactics), it could possibly effect the deliverability of the confirmation message. You'd need to contact Aweber to see if they can tell you anything.
3. It could just be anomalous. Perhaps if you drive more traffic you will see that ratio go up.
4. I've sometimes seen my PPC campaigns (where the prospect is very cold) have bad confirmation ratios, as low as 30%. In those instances I just turn off the confirmed opt in option.
I'd probably drive a little more traffic and monitor the ratio. If it doesn't imrpove I would call Aweber and ask for guidance. If they can't tell you anything earth shattering I would probably create a separate list and turn off the double opt-in option, and just use that list for traffic sources that are similarly problematic.
Hope that helps.
