John,

Have you heard of http://www.optinlinks.com? Apparently makes the double opt in feature more seamless. Thoughts?

Hey Arif,

I am not familiar with the company but I checked it out. There is a LOT of typical sale page hype there that I wouldn't bother listening to. But that doesn't mean the plugin might not be a decent tool. It's going to come down to a slight bump or a slight drop, in my opinion. If something resonates with you, give it a shot and see what happens. Sometimes these little things can really matter to your bottom line.

Thanks John. I bought a couple things from JVZoo, like the FB ID scraper tool that Charley Langer mentioned in another thread so now I get bombarded with hyped marketing tools daily.  It's hard to discern what has value and what's just hype but I'm getting better at it.  Since you've been doing this much longer I may ask for your feedback from time to time if that's ok. Much appreciated!

Arif

Sure thing. All the noise of those marketing emails can be really overwhelming. Marketers use fear to make you feel that you need to jump on everything or your world will end. It's 90% bullshit. There are plenty of tools out there that will help you. But it's best not to buy things because they look shiny based on the sales copy. I try to only buy things that help me progress. So in other words, if I think to myself, I wish I could scrape IDs so I could set up a custom ad campaign, then I buy an ID scraper and I don't worry about the fact that I might pay $20 more because I missed a special discount. Taking that approach will save you a lot of money.

That said, I do think there is a place for continued education. I still by courses all the time myself and I've been doing this full time since 2007. But I tend to find a handful of people that I trust and just stick with their advice, and unsubscribe from the rest.

And yeah, ask away. 90% of the time I probably won't be familiar with the product and will tell you that you don't need it :-)

I'm late to the party, but thought I'd chime in just in case someone else is looking for something like OptinLinks.

I was researching it because I wanted something that would give me the "Leadbox" like ability to create a pop-up light box when a link is clicked by the visitor. I was subscribed to Leadpages, but didn't like paying $37/month for mainly the ability to do this (don't get me wrong, Leadpages does a lot of other stuff, but this was mainly what I was looking for).

So Optinlinks came up on my radar as an alternative.

I didn't end up getting it - but in a weird way I ended up getting a plugin called ThriveLeads on a recommendation of a marketer I follow and respect a lot - Andre Chaperon.

Well, I had been using a different plugin called "SumoMe" as a substitute for Leadboxes and it was getting me email addresses on my niche site about bass guitars....

...but once I plugged in ThriveLeads and used one of their generic templates along with a little bit of strategy, and I really started to kill it.

Now we're not talking about hundreds of leads a day or a month - but this was major growth for me: 333% more conversions and a 385% improved conversion rate.

So, sometimes you do get what you pay for. Very happy with the purchase and expect to deploy this resource on my other sites and really crank it up.
