Before I found John, I had worked with a publicist that worked on getting me blog placements. The problems were: I didn't have a squeeze page to capture contacts, the service was more expensive than I think it should have been, and the placements weren't targeted well. That said, I still get web hits from blogs that were written two years ago. I wish they went to my squeeze page! LOL!

So, can anyone recommend some people who do this? I like "organic" traffic when I can get it because it's warm. I like paid traffic because it's not time-consuming for me. It seems like hiring people to seek blog placements might be the best of both worlds, but I'm not sure if there is anyone doing this inexpensively and in a targeted manner.

I have decent press materials now -- a professionally written bio with a compelling story, nice pics, video etc. I'm much more interesting to write about than I was two years ago. I just could use some help getting my story into the hands of bloggers. Cheaply. Wink

I don't know of anyone aside from publicists who does this exactly, but it's not hard to go and take all of your main keywords and then run a google search for all of the sites that rank in the top 5 for those keywords (hopefully you have a list of a few hundred sites at that point), and then mail out a slightly customized form letter essentially pushing your credentials and asking if they need any free guest bloggers. Then follow up and simply respond to those who take you up on it. You could do the same thing but offer to pay people if you wanted to go that route.

Another option (and this is something I had planned on playing with a bit and possibly sharing as a training module in the future) is a few of the paid blog post services out there. From what I've seen the quality and result is not quite as good as what you're thinking as this is more something people use for backlinks... But you can check out:

Hope that helps.
