John,
I was wondering if you had any ideas of how to promote a tour in varying cities via PPC -- like FB or Jango Radio? If we play Las Vegas, for instance, is it worth paying Jango or Facebook X amount to plaster the Las Vegas listeners with our music online?
Thanks!
God Bless,

I couldn't comment on Jango but you can defiantly use PPC to promote shows. However rather than plastering your music all over the place I would follow the same principles of MMM. I would probably use geo targeted Facebook ads to drive people to a squeeze page. I would be hoping to profit on the sales to cover my ad spend and then I would simply promote the shows to my list. You could segment your data by either creating multiple squeeze pages for each location, or simply by adding a "state" field to your opt in form (I think state is easier for sorting than zip personally because there are so many zip codes out there and I don't automatically recognize them). You can also just use aweber's IP tracking that is built in. It's just not as accurate as the other methods. The reason I would use Facebook is simply that they are easier to work with and are friendlier to squeeze pages.
